AMC AMX 1968 Description
1968 AMC AMX with 390, uto transmission, nd Go Pack. When I bought this car it had been partially disassembled and was missing many parts such as the hood, ront fender extensions, ead light buckets/hoods, ront bumper, nd many more expensive hard to find parts. I have located these parts and put the car mostly back together. It is now around 90% complete for parts.
The car last ran two years ago when it was started by the previous owner. I have not run the car as I have removed the fuel tank. The tank will need to be cleaned, oated, einstalled, nd new fuel lines installed. The cooling and heater hoses need to be replaced before the car can be filled with antifreeze and started. The wiring for the headlights, ront turn signal/marker lights, nd tail lights is there but needs to have bulbs installed. The electrical connections under the dash need to be connected.
The car has 15" Torq Thrust II wheels and new tires. The magnum 500s shown in some of the pictures are no longer with the car as they were Ford wheels and have been sold to a Ford collector.
The car has a complete interior including a new reproduction headliner. The original factory seats need the side trim and reclining levers. The car will come with brand new reproduction stainless steel rockermoldingtrim. A replacement front core support/elephant ears is included to replace the hacked up one in the car.
This AMX has a very solid body with mostly surface rust. I took a magnet and went over all the body panels and did not find filler. This is a great candidate for restoration since it does not require metal repair.
