AMC Rambler Marlin 1965 Description
1965 AMC Rambler Marlin -
50th Anniversary this Year with shows around the country.Unique Unusual and Rare. Head Turner. This is a unique opportunity to purchase a Rare car. Only 10327 built in 1965. The Marlin was produced from 65-67 ( only 3 years ) with a total of 14874 cars made. A distinctive Low Volume Model. And only the 65-66 years have this body style.AMC was not known for their eye appealing cars but when the mid sixties came the focus was to sell to the younger generation. The Marlin was sort of ahead of the curve with its fastback styling and considered a personal luxury carbut has the lines of a muscle car. The Marlin was AMC's first muscle car and thismodel paved the way for other performance based AMC classics such as the Javelin and AMX of the later 1960's. The Marlin also competed with the Big 3 ( GM Ford Chrysler ) and in 1965 went toe to toe with the body styling of the Fastback Mustang and Barracuda. Interesting enough in 1966 the Dodge Charger styling appears to be a clone (although the designer said they did not copy the Marlin - that was already produced! ) This car has the upgraded engine for that year a 327 cu.in. V8 that is 5.4 liter and produces 270HP. It has a floor console with Flash-o-Matic Auto on the floor Buckets Seats and Power Steering. This car has great lines and the factory Two-Tone White with Black insert exterior along with the Black interior looks fantastic. Some history on the car. I have owned it some time and it has sat in indoor storage. I have not drove the car as much as I planned but have enjoyed taking to some local car shows which it was Always a head turner. You just do not see these cars. Prior to my owning I am told by the couple I purchased it from that they had owned it many years and prior to them it came from out West.Itis original as far as no modifications have been made to the car. The car has had one older repaint now showing some wear with a few places the paint could be improved. The car was restored and painted once a long time ago. Paint looks great but shows some signs of wear. The interior is original and not tampered with. Dash pad is excellent with no cracking Dashand door panels are great with no noticeable wear. There issome wear to the cloth inserts on the seats as shown. i will note that headliner was removed (common on these cars) i have new material to match original as close as you can to have installed back into car and side sail panels are nice. I believe trunk has original spare in it but can not be for certain. If you are familiar with These cars or any old car you will know from the pictures and inspection that this Marlin is VERY clean compared to others. I will say that I specifically wanted to own one of these cars when I bought this one and I looked at Tons of cars that were all crap with bad rust cracks in dashes and torn up interiors. This car does have its flaws but they are minor to what is found.Clear Ohio Title Drives and Handles great. This car reads 15000 miles on speedometer so has turned over. Since I have purchased it for reliability I had new brakes wheel cylinders repacked wheel bearings water pump heater valve shocks plugs and wires hoses batterytires and carb installed on the car. New dual exhaust with stainless tips Magnaflo (exhaust system was expensive ($1k) done right and sounds great). The engine compartment was detailed painted and new factory stickers installedwhen this work was done and it looks very clean no disappointments when opening the hood up. The only thing that does need done is to fix or replace the rear backup lights which I have purchased replacement lights for them but have not installed yet. Please ask any question or let me know if you want to view the car. I am trying to be upfront and honest with my description and pictures to show the true condition of the car. It really is a clean car especially for a 1965 Marlin butis a50 year old car so has some flaws. Our Auction Terms And Criteria- You are buying this item as represented look at my positive feedback if you have any questions ask before you bid.
