RARE 1972 AMC JAVELIN SST 360 V-8 - ORIG PIERRE CARDIN INTERIOR
The Pierre Cardin edition of the Javelin was only offered in 1972-73 and only 4,152 were made! This is a very rare model in the most popular color and in great condition! NADA places the value of this car from between $19,200 and $33,125.
This car is in great shape. The psychedelic Pierre Cardin Interior is all original. The front seats are a bit faded, ut the back seats and headliner are very vibrant. It has all it's special Pierre Cardin badges on the inside and on the inside with the exception of one on the passenger right front. It has come off, ut we have it. There is one piece of trim that has come off from the area above where you would expect the glove box to be (The glove box is just to the left of it). We have that piece of trim. The car is entirely original inside with all the dash gauges (tach, emp, uel, il, lternator) working. The clock is not working. The radio is a Clarion 8204R AM/FM/Cassette that works. It is only heard on one of the two back speakers (this appears to be a simple wiring fix). The air conditioning and heater both work but the flap under the dash won't close the heat off. Therefore the air conditioner doesn't blow through because the heat lever is stuck. Once the lever is freed and allows the heat to be shut off, he air will work fine. Might need a re-charge.
The car has been repainted in it's original wild plum color with white stripes. It is a very nice paint job. The chrome rack on the trunk was dealer installed. Chrome is in good condition, ome pitting but nothing major for a car of it's age. The car originally had a white vinyl top. It has been removed at some point and the top of the car has been painted white in it's place. It was like this when we purchased the car 9 years ago and we never got around to replacing the white vinyl. Cosmetically, hat is pretty much the only thing that needs to be done to this car to make it fantastic!
The engine is a 360 V-8 and runs well. We have replaced the heater core andredone the "U" joint. The air cleaner and carb are both Edelbrock. This is a true muscle car so you can definitely hear it coming!
The car has not been driven much in the past year...and needs new tires before driving it. They are not in good shape.
This car was one of quite a few classic cars that we were using in movies, V and print. It has been mainly sitting since we closed the business a year ago.
