AMC Other 1965 Description
1965 AMC Rambler Classic 770 Convertible Location:Acton. Massachusetts 01720Trans:AutoCondition:ExcellentExterior:BrownInterior:Brown and GoldDescription:1965 Rambler classic 770 straight 6 232 cubic inch engine. I have various show awards and it is on Wikipedia http://en. m. wikipedia. org/wiki/Rambler_Classic (It is the brown one). It is also an extra in the Whitey Bulger movie called Black Mass starring Johnny Depp:http://www. imdb. com/title/tt1355683/ and the photo is from the set of the movie (the scene is where millionaire Roger Wheeler was shot to death in the parking lot of his country club in Tulsa. Oklahoma). I put about $4. 00 for all new brakes new tires and general upkeep. I have the original window sticker (see the photos). The 1965 Rambler cost $3. 29. 85 and includes a $5. 30 left-side mirror. The owners manual and a repair manual. as well as some advertisements from the dealer are included too. There is no rust on the body. the car is always garaged. it always starts and runs great. The engine is in one of the photos. The interior upholstory has been replaced and is in very good condition. There are original retractable seat belts in front (a $7. 50 extra in 1965). I added 2 for safety in the back. I put new tires and had all 4 drums replaced. A slow drip from the transmission is the only annoying but minor problem with the car. Oh. and if you know Ramblers. the clocks never work. I even tried to buy a new one from a parts dealer and I asked if it worked and he said "No". The convertible top is in excellent condition. but I hardly ever put it up. as the car has been garaged since I bought it. I only drive it on sunny days. The car comes from an AMC dealer in Pennsylvania (Robert Young and Sons. Easton. PA) who kept 3-4 AMC cars in his garage after the dealership closed in 1988. I bought it in 2006 and drove it 300 miles up to Boston. I take the car to shows or just out for fun. It is meant to be driven. in my opinion. and many people at the shows tell me stories of owning one or being a kid in the family Rambler. We have expertise in a wide variety of antique and special interest car restoration and rehabilitation. and can custom tailor a project to your expectations and budget. Your 1965 Rambler has a 232 cu in straight 6 cyl engine and an automatic transmission. with power a steering and brakes. It is in very solid condition throughout with no rust or corrosion visible. It does not have the original finish. but the sheet metal appears to be intact. The powertrain and engine compartment have been detailed and has had a lot of cosmetic attention. done to it. The paint is excellent. The chrome is excellent. Pick UpYou can pick it up from my garage. but I would recommed a trailer unless you live close. Serious buyers can test drive it.
