Buick Skylark 1964 Description

You will be bidding on a 1964 BUICK SKYLARK CONVERTIBLE in EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION. Everything works as it should on this well maintained 100% ORIGINAL convertible. The engine runs strong and idles smooth. The transmission shifts up and down perfectly. It drives straight and true. The original odometer reading is 97,400 miles. The car has CURRENT REGISTRATION and CLEAR OHIO TITLE in my name. ALSO INCLUDED are the original owners’ manuals with the Guard-A-Plate, a complete assembly manual, the Book of New Buicks 1964 edition and the original working AM radio with speaker.

The history:

This Skylark was manufactured in Flint, Michigan and first sold in Palestine, Texas where in spent most of its life. It spent some time in Iowa and Kentucky before I purchased it and had it shipped to Sunny California. Job relocation brought me and it to Ohio. There is NO RUST (never driven in salt) and the car was repainted, with what appears to be single stage paint, at some point in time in the original Wedgewood Blue color. The interior is excellent original (no rips, wear, etc.). The carpet is reproduction. I removed the original AM radio and speaker and fabricated a radio delete plate for the hole. I installed a dual cone stereo speaker in the original speaker location. I also fabricated an under dash mounting box to house a Kenwood CD USB IPOD player, tachometer and temperature gauge. Everything is wired with factory type plugs so the original radio could be reinstalled by just plugging it in (no cutting or hacking). I also replaced the carburetor water choke with an electric choke.

The original factory options include:

Reason for selling:

In California we drive our cars all year long and since moving to Ohio driving time is very limited between the snow and rain. I have two other collector cars and it just doesn’t make sense to have three cars sitting in the garage for almost 4 months in the winter not to mention the rainy days.

I have tried to describe the Skylark to the best of my ability and show everything possible in the pictures but SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY are encouraged to E-MAIL me with ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING. I check my e-mail often so you will receive prompt answers. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
