First and foremost. they want something that's super cool. Secondly. they want something that's reliable. And last but not least. they want something that doesn't require a second job to finance. Fortunately the gearheads at RK Motors Charlotte pride themselves on specializing in first rate classics of all kinds. and they always have cars. like this awesome 1970 Buick GS455. that are a perfect fit for anyone. Sporting an upgraded. original 455. an original Turbo-Hydramatic 400 and super rare white on blue aesthetics. this coupe is certainly some of the coolest metal to ever roll out of Detroit. Thanks to a professional. ground-up restoration. the car can be driven and enjoyed for years without worry. And as a fully documented. fully sorted classic that's priced at only $50K. it's the bargain of the century! If you're in the market for some spectacular muscle that mixes tons of character with an unbeatable price. we have the car for you!BODYWORK/TRIMDecked in a rare Gulfstream Blue and Glacier White business suit. this awesome Buick rolled off GM's Kansas City assembly line during the second week of December. 1969 to begin a long life patrolling the block. After 39 years serving the same family. the car was booked at an Austin restoration shop with hopes of turning over a new leaf. But. when the family decided it didn't have the means to bond thorough rehabilitation. the shop's owner took the case by purchasing the car and getting right down to business. During its ground-up reformation. the body's all-original sheetmetal was fitted with a trunk patch and worked to better-than-new condition. Fresh Gulfstream Blue and Glacier White digs came courtesy of modern 2-stage paint. And. in the summer of 2010. this Buick reintegrated as a rare and unique classic that's exactly the kind of all-business. no-nonsense muscle car Buick always intended it to be. By 1970. Buick had pretty much perfected its top dog performance offerings both mechanically and aesthetically. At the front of this coupe. a clean. silver grille hangs a bold GS emblem between a heavy bumper. chrome-trimmed headlights and clear parking lamps. Behind that grille. a scooped hood hides correctly recessed wipers at the base of factory tint glass and factory-spec stainless. At the sides of that hood. a Buick-branded mirror and traditional door handles perfectly complement bright marker lamps. red-trimmed rocker guards and red-trimmed GS ornamentation. And at the back of the car. a massive bumper centers a classy "BUICK" script between clear tail lamps. correct deck trim and a fourth. red-trimmed "GS" emblem. ENGINEWhile the exterior of this slick A-Body does an excellent job of upholding GM Design's world-class visual aesthetics. the engine compartment is where purists REALLY start to take notice. And for good reason too. because the original. 455 cubic inch V8 that's bolted between the car's freshly detailed fenders is the kind of killer powerhouse that makes people either put up or shut up. Turn the key and an original Quadrajet carburetor. rebuilt by the pros at All American Carburetors of Orange Park. Florida. mixes air from a black. dual-snorkel cleaner with fuel that's supplied by carefully bent stainless. and shoves it into a correct. cast iron intake. That intake feeds port-matched heads that. thanks to the pros at Francis Engineering of Leroy. Ohio. currently feature Stage 1-spec valves. Those heads are bumped by a modern Comp cam. which is hooked to a familiar points distributor and high quality Packard TV R Suppression cables. Spent gases are jetted through correct. cast iron manifolds. which ride under traditional. stamped steel valve covers. And cooling is provided by a correct. heavy duty radiator. which circulates water around an old school Frigidaire AC system via GM-branded hoses and reproduction tower clamps. The bright red block looks fantastic. framed in Satin Black fenders and dressed in an array of correct decals. Well-planned details. like an authentic Delco Moraine brake booster. a Saginaw steering box and a reproduction Delco battery. prove someone spent a lot of time executing this Buick's top-notch restoration. And. naturally. the monster mill carries a correct "SR" assembly stamp behind a matching partial VIN. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSIONUnder this Buick. it's just as the factory planned. except with much more precision and. subsequently. much more appeal. A correct. "BA" branded Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed. which was overhauled by Janis Transmissions of Akron. Ohio. sends power to a 10-bolt. posi-traction rear end that's equipped with familiar. 3. 42 gears. Holding that killer drivetrain off the ground is a familiar double A-arm front and 4-link rear suspension that's equipped with factory power steering. During restoration. power-assisted drums were supplemented with the increased safety of power front discs. On the outside of those brakes. capped. 14-inch wheels were replaced by polished Rallyes and fresh G60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs. The aforementioned manifolds dump spent gases in to an authentic sounding Gardner exhaust system. The car's frame. free of any major damage. is painted black to match its smooth. satin floors. And. in keeping with the 455 up top. much attention has been paid to making sure everything under this coupe is clean. mean and ready to go!INTERIORPop the sculpted doors and you'll find a correct code 121 Blue vinyl interior that's still restoration-fresh in virtually every way. Comfy seats and fade-free door panels mix with a stain-free headliner and clean carpet to continue the placid feeling of the car's Gulfstream Blue exterior. In front of those seats. a pliable dash hangs fresh wood trim and crystal clear telemetry above correct factory climate control and an era-correct AM/FM radio. At the base of those seats. you'll find heavy duty. tri-shield branded floor mats. In front of the driver. a classy Buick steering wheel laps a simple column shifter. And behind the passengers. a fully restored trunk sandwiches a full-size spare tire between a new mat. a correct jack and a fresh decklid decal.
