Buick CENTURION 1971 Description

This auction is for a 1971 Buick Centurion Convertible . Only 2161 units were built that year. This is a second owner car that has been in storage since 1988. It has it's original matching numbers 455 V-8 4 bbl auto trans, tc.I even have the factory build sheet. It is a fully loaded car . All powe, c, indows, oors, ock, way power seat, ilt wheel, m-fm steri, ower trunk, nd so on.Every thing still works. The car has 65000 original miles, nfortunately from sitting so long the years have taken it's toll. The body has rust issues as you can see from the pics. The frame is still solid front to back but has pitting from being in the grass. For the most part the under side is solid with the exception of a couple of holes on both back floor pans. Trunk pa, ocker panels and braces are all solid. If somebody wanted to do a quick patch up you could clean it up and make it presentable. I have seen far worse fixed . I think the car would be best suited as a doner car for a more solid bodied Centurion. Or use the hard to find running gear . Great donor motor and trans for a Skylark or Riviera . Also the interior is in near perfect condition if you had to upholster one of these cars you can just imagine the cost. Dash is in perfect condition all convertible top bows are in good shape. Just a treasure trove of great parts. As far as the running gear is concerned I oiled up all the cylinders before trying to start it . I put in a set of new plugs and cleaned the points . I used a boat tank for a fresh fuel source. It fired right up . I will tell you one thing this is one nice running big block. Transmission goes right into gear . I cant imagine how much nicer it will run if you did a full tune up. I did free up the break pedal but could not get the breaks to take. So it will have to be towed. Sold on a Maine dealer bill of sale . If you need a title in your state I can register the car and give you all the proper transfer paper work. It will be an additional $150 dollars should you need this service. we are selling the car at no reserve so if you bid be prepared to follow thru and be serious with your bidding FULL PAYMENT WITHIN 3 DAYS OF AUCTIONS END.
