I am pleased to offer this beautiful nearly original and rare 1939 Buick Century Sedan. The paint has an amazing patina and I could not see any rust or other body issues. I bought this Century through Auctions American with the intentions of converting it to a station wagon. What intrigued me about this particular Buick is one the Century has the larger 320 c.i. engine and even more important has the full rear frame rails. Evidently in my research I learned that the first run of 1939 Buicks had shorter rear frame rails in order to save production costs. It seems that the car would sustain serious damage in a collision so Buick had to later produce better frames with the extended rails. Of all the features of the 1939 I most particularly love the front grill design. Well a year has gone by since I purchased the car so I have come to the conclusion that a station wagon conversion is not going to happen plus frankly it is too nice of a car to alter. Please let all the pictures tell the condition of this Buick. It is hard to describe originality as the interior appears to be the condition of the engine compartment and of course the trunk which in this case seems to be 100% correct. The only issues I have found with the car since my stewardship is a leaking exhaust manifold – not serious but there nonetheless. I have purchased all of the correct gaskets to facilitate this repair. It is missing a wiper blade and it dribbles or leaves an oil spot when stored. The speedometer works but the odometer does not. We are selling the car as miles exempt. Lastly it seems to weep some antifreeze out of the overflow so I suspect it has been overfilled. The Century runs great and looks even better.
