Buick Riviera 1963 Description
Let me begin by saying that thisbeautiful vehiclewas originally purchased at the Buick dealerin LA Mesa California and has livedits life on the sunny west coast. There is NO RUST that I know of. It has always been garaged. I purchased the car in 2009with only 93000 miles from the original owners. I have only added about 30000 miles since purchasing it. The old owners were NON-Smokers as well as myself! Thiscar sports aRidetechair ride suspension that has recently beenretrofittedwith new front bags and computer module. It's rolling on a beautiful set of 20" 5 spoke wheels which were handmade by Boyd Coddington and they are accompanied by a set of Hankook Ventus tires that have 75% tread.Under the hood sports an awesome running401 Nailhead V8 engine that wasrecently been serviced about 300 miles ago.Not longagoI freshened up themotor with new Gates belts hosesa Milling oil pump TRW water pump and a 180`Stant thermostat. I also rebuilt the timing cover added a new TRW fuel pump had the harmonic balancer Re-vulcanizedadded 8mm MSD spark plug wires a MSD coil K&N air filter a 425 Nailhead ported intake manifold Edelbrock Carb rebuilt and retrofitted the old points distributor with Pertronix electronic internals andupdated the alternator to a 90 amp internal regulated system eliminating the external regulator. The radiator was rebuilt at the time I purchased the car. I eliminated the stock factory fan and added an electric one that keeps this motor running nice and cool. The hydraulic brake booster was recently rebuilt with a lifetime warranty. The battery is an OPTIMA Red Top and only about 1 year old with new Positive & Negative cables. The Transmission is a factory Hydromatic 2 speed automatic which was recently rebuilt and revalved. This completes everything under the hood. I may have missed a minor thing or two. Now for the undercarriage. The brakes have recently been completely rebuilt with EBC Brake shoes.99% of theunderside of this car has been replaced with polyurethane and Delron bushings. The end links tie rods idler arm pitman arm and steering box have been rebuilt or replacedwith new parts. This car handles like its on rails!!! Oh! I forgot to mention that I just replaced the whole exhaust system from the exhaust manifolds back to the rear wheels with 3" tubing (2) stage 1 Flowmaster Mufflersand stainless tips. The paint and body are in pretty good shape for a vehicle that was painted over 20 years agobut it does showsome minor imperfections. There are a few chips and minor dings which are to be expected from a vehicle that's drivennot a car that is trailered everywhere. The interior is in great shape andeverything is in working condition. The seats were re-upholstered and new carpet installed prior to me purchasing the car. I installed an Alpine CD MP3 Player with JL Audio Crossovers and speakers. The car is prewired for a subwoofer and amp but I have not gotten around to doing that as of yet. The headliner is in good condition other then the factory stitching is starting to weakenin aone spot. The factory steering wheel is in really good shape which is rare for a vehicle of this ageand it has the tilt option. The electric motor on the drivers seat sticks once and a while. I have replaced most of the rubber around the car. The low beamheadlights have been upgraded to HID's and the high beams are halogen. All the chrome is original straight and there but it is starting to show some wear in spots. All the stainless is in pretty good shape as well. I have the original owners manual whichrecorded most all the servicesthat the dealership performedfor the previous owner.I also havemostof receipts for parts and work I had done as well. This car is by no means a trailer queen or 100 point show car. Its just an awesome looking car that is fun and dependableto drive to the market or your favorite cruise spot. Its given me and my family many years of enjoyment. I guarantee if your looking for a car that will turn heads you've found it. Thank you for looking at my rideand happy bidding!
