Buick Super 1947 Description
1947 Buick Super Sedanette Street RodI purchased this car on 1/24/2015 and have only put about 1,600 miles on it. I retired a year ago, plus I don't like to see it sit so much, so I know it's time to let it go. The car runs and drives and gets a boatload of attention when it's on the road.: Cadillac silver metallic paint about 2 1/2 years old and looks great, a 350 V8 with a rebuilt 700R4 automatic transmission that doesn't stay in first long enough for me. Also, please ignore the ratchet shifter in the pictures, new pictures will be taken and loaded. When the console and shifter was added, the short shifter hits the seat before going into 1st gear. A custom, tall shifter would correct this problem. It also has Power Steering and PowerBrakes, Hot Heat, and Cold A/C. I did find a front bumper and it was treated and painted silver. It looks really good but it isnot chromed. The back has been customized with the taillights, individual bumpers rails (which would not hold back a speeding car should it get hit but looks great)and a shaved trunk lid. VIN = 14792155
The interior has custom Moon Gauges, Bucket Seats, console, custom upholstery, CD/MP3/iPOD AM-FM Radio. It has a new windshield, front windows roll up and down but the back windows need regulators, and the rear passenger window has a crack.
Underneath is solid with goodframe rails and floor pans with no rust. The trunk is carpeted and clean. It has new gunmetal and chrome wheels - tires are 8" on the front and 9" on the back andstill like new. The hood and fenders needs to be aligned better but some of the gap may be due to the hood opening on both sides.
The carb could use an adjusting but I don't trust too many to work on it so it remains cold natured, idled a little low, and must warm before it will go on a cold morning. Supposedly, the 7,900 miles on the gauge is how long it has been since the motor was rebuilt but I cannot prove this is true.
This is an absolutely gorgeous car and the only street rod type 47 Buick that I've seen. Thanks for looking

My original paperwork states that this is a Buick Super but I have received messages from a few fellow eBay members saying it is a Buick Special. Please consider this car a "Special". Also, I forgot to state that the side window rubber is worn. Thanks
