A Brief Overview

The GNX is the pinnacle of the Buick brand's turbo generation. The Regal T-Type and Grand National pleased the horsepower hungry and scared street racers alike during the mid/late '80's with its 3.8L 245HP Turbocharged V6. The GNX took the Grand National to the next level with a claimed 276HP and over 360 lb-ft of torque. It was one of General Motors quickest vehicles ever produced (with a zero to 60 MPH time well under 5 seconds and a 13 second quarter mile time) and was quicker than the Corvette until the ZR-1 launched in 1990.

At an MSRP of $29,900 in 1987 (or $62,810 in 2015 dollars according to the CPI Inflation Calculator), he GNX was over $1,000 MORE than a 1987 Corvette Z51 Coupe, nd the Buick was also much quicker as stated above. What really makes the GNX standout is its flared fenders, ront fender vents, nique badging, ide lightweight wheels with wide tires, pecial suspension package, hassis upgrade, arity and of course its performance. The GNX came with a larger turbocharger and a special "E-Prom" ECU which was advanced for its time.
