90,744 km / 56385 mi
  • Garnet red metallic (GM paint code 076)
  • hardtop
  • owned since 1998.
  • Trophy winner at many car shows
  • This is a factory light weight with virtually no options. Crank windows, o cruise, o tilt, anual locks. Less stuff to break is how I look at it. It does have aftermarket positraction.
  • Car was from Canada. It was imported by me in 1998 and titled in Iowa with no problems at all.

Extras included:
  • Set of (4) 1987 aluminum T wheels/caps. Tires will need replacing on these.
  • Fitted car cover
  • Original Powermaster brake system. Still worked when removed. I just wanted more braking power from Hydroboost braking.
  • Rear brake lines. I had these made for it but never installed them. The stockers are still in good shape but I had these made in case I ruined the stock lines changing out the wheel cylinders.
  • NOS coil pack. I bought one just to have around just in case since it isn't easy to find remans with good specifications.

Engine:
  • 3.8 SFI Turbo
  • Manley valves
  • O-ringed heads
  • TE-44 turbo from Precision Turbo and Engine
  • stock intercooler
  • Ford Blue Top 36psi injectors

  • Poston’s mechanical fuel pressure gauge (under hood)
  • MAF Translator with LS1 MAF sensor (First Gen Translator)

  • Super Comp mufflers exiting in stock location with proper slash cut tips
  • BGC 3” downpipe
  • Adjustable stock style wastegate actuator with correct mount for TE-44 turbo.
  • Stock crack-free headers
  • There is no catalytic converter on this car, nly a “test” pipe.

Braking, uspension, heels:
  • stock calipers, iscs and drums.
  • Converted to Hydroboost (2010)
  • Auburn Pro posi traction
  • Wheels Front: 15x7 Weld Pro Star with BFG 235/60 15

The Good:
I have owned this car since 1998 and I have enjoyed it very much. It has been treated with the utmost care and has never been rained on since I have owned it. It is stored winters and is only driven on nice days in the good months. It is not my primary summer driver either as I have a 1996 Mustang Cobra thatsees most of the street time. I am guessing I have putfarfewer than 1000 miles/yr on it as long as I have owned it.It has won many first place finishes in its class at local car shows, ost often entered in a class called Street Machines 1983-present. It gets looks and compliments everywhere it goes and I am very proud to have owned it and maintained it to a level it deserves. The car is not hacked up or shoddily done in any way. Interior is exceptionally clean and tastefully modified. The dash is not cracked aside from minute ones around the speaker covers. Additionally, he paint is in immaculate shape. The original lacquer was repainted in a base coat /clear coat in 1998 and it looks the sametoday. There is no rust on the car at all and VERY few imperfections. It has always been washed and regularly waxed withonly the best in car care products. I have mostly used Zaino, eguiars or Surf City Garage products on it.
The car has various performancemodifications (as listed above). It is not a race car and has not been treated that way at all. It just has basic modifications that you will find on many Turbo Regals owned by people in the know.I have changed the fluids at regular intervals and have always used the best.Iwent through the brake system in 2010 replacing the rear wheel cylinders and converting to Hydroboost. The fluid is fresh and clean and has been bled correctly. The transmission fluid and filter were just changed in the fall of 2011. It seems like a long time ago but in terms of miles, tis probably under 3000.The old fluid wasinsurprisingly good condition and showed no signs of internal clutch pack wear. It still shifts crisp and clean.
The Bad:
The car is not perfect. I will list some areas that I feel need attention. Nothing is a pressing need ... just things on the “list” that I would have addressed over time:
  • Air conditioning is present but not functioning. I haven’t ever fixed it because I just don’t use it. It has not worked in over ten years, o I imagine the system will need an overhaul and not just a charge.
  • The front passenger side bumper filler now has a hole in it under the headlight from age and becoming brittle. I was washing the car and put my hand right through it. Both of them should be replaced. I have included a closeup in the selection of pictures.
  • The steering wheel leather is looking old. Certainly still presentable, ut it could stand to be reworked. It just doesn’t fit with the cleanliness and attention to detail the rest of the car has.
  • The rear speakers (stock 4x10) need to be replaced as a pair. One of them is blown, lthough you don’t notice it much with regular volume levels. The Kenwood CD stereo works fine.
  • The driver’s side bumper filler has a quarter sized area where the paint has chipped off revealing the gray primer. This was not due to the quality of the paint sicne the appropriate flex agent was added to the paint for the fillers in 1998. I had a little garage dooraccident and scraped it. Talk about a bad day for me.
  • There is an annoying exhaust leak (a flutter) emanating from what I believe is the driver’s side of the car. The header is known crack free and I had it off and inspected. It was reinstalled using a Remflex crush gasket but the noise remains. I am pretty confident that the header and crossover is sealed. I notice it most when the car is cold, ut you also notice it when cruising at low rpm, ike in OD. When the car is cold, t will produce a chirping flutter that goes away when the engine heats up. I have not been able to adequately diagnose and fix this problem. It is not turbo sneeze ... I know what that is. I have a video of the noise but I can't post a link to YouTube for some reason. Inquire if needed.
  • The car really needs to be tuned correctly with a scan tool. It runs well, ut I do not feel like it is running at maximum potential.
  • Will need a catalytic converter if your state requires it. I will not supply one with the sale.
  • Still has the Canadian KMH speedometer. As you can see in the picture, he MPH reading is therein orangebut it is a very small font.
  • The driver's side front Weldwheel rattles a little. The lug nutsare correct and have the correct washers so I am not sure what it is. There is no rattle on the stock T wheels so I am sure it is the Weld wheel.
  • Closing Notes:I have been as honest as I can with this car and have given all of the "goods and bads" I can think of. That said, his is an AS IS sale. You certainly have the option of having a mechanic check the car outbefore bidding. I'd be happy to take it to a LOCAL shop that you arrange andpay for. I am confident in the car. I have owned it for almost 18 years and no one else has ever driven it in that time. I am the only one to work on it during my ownership aside from having the rear main seal changed to a neoprene seal. It gets looks and compliments everywhere it goes and I can't count the number of times people have come up to me asking about it and telling me how great it looks. I take care of my stuff and anyone that knows me will tell you the same.I will not be able to deliver the car or meet you "halfway" for drop off. You must arrange shipping or pickup of this car after funds are transferred. The title will not be released until a wire transfer has taken place OR the cashier's check has been cleared and authenticated by my bank. In the included pictures, he cardboard is under the car to prevent oil from dripping on the concrete. I had a problem with the oil filter contacting the intercooler bracket and it had a small slice in it. This problem has been corrected by re-mounting the bracket to ensure proper clearance and replacing the oil filter. It has not leaked since.
