Buick LeSabre 1961 Description

1961 Buick LeSabre convertible project. 364 V-8 engine is stuck, apart, and out of the car, but I have another one to go with the car. In fact, buyer can have both the original engine and my other 364, and build one using the best parts from each. This car was driven by one female owner until the 1980s, at which time it sat unused in her Connecticutgarage for the next 30 years. My customer bought the car, paid way too much for it, had it shipped to Texas, and decided to sell it to me rather than undertake its restoration. I do not have room for it. The car has a clear Connecticut title. It has the original AM radio, Dynaflow automatic transmission, power steering, full wheel covers, original upholstery, original interior door panels in nice condition, a couple of nearly new tires, and a couple of old tires that go flat after several days. I think it has power brakes, but they will need rebuilding, of course.

The car seems to have its original paint on the upper body, and has been repainted on the lower body. As you can see, it needs rocker panel replacement, some quarter panel replacement, and replacing of the driver's side floor under and just behind the front seat. I have new rocker panels and a new floor panel replacement which will go with the car. Trunk floor is pretty good, with a few small rust holes just behind the rear wheel housings. Drive shaft is out of the car, so it can be trailered or pushed. I can help load it. The convertible top is old but still keeping the car dry; plastic rear window is yellowed. Seat upholstery is original and has a rip right down the center of the driver's seat and the passenger's seat cushion. The car's frame is solid. This is the first year for the open drive shaft on a Buick, so the drive train is a lot easier to work on than the older ones with enclosed drive shafts. I have a good, replacement front fender that will go with the car, in fact, I think I have both the left and the right front replacement fenders.

The car is located near Bonham, Texas, 75418. I can help load it, and I could deliver it to Houston for overseas shipping, for an additional $500 (I am up near the Oklahoma border, 300 miles north of Houston. If you win this auction, I request a $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction's end, and payment of the balance within 10 days of auction's end. Failure to comply with either condition will result in the car being offered to the runner-up bidder. Bidders with zero feedback need to go elsewhere. Thanks for looking at my auction.
