Cadillac Eldorado 1978 Description
Up for grabs is this mostly original 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Custom Biarritz Classic coupe. This was the swan song vehicle for the full size Eldorado, nd late in 1978 this limited edition was released to commemorate the last of the full-size Eldorados. This is one of only 1999 made. I am selling this vehicle for a client of mine who purchased it several years ago from an estate sale to use as his daily driver. He is a vintage Cadillac collector and spares no expense when it comes to maintaining one of his "babies".
The good:
Many thousands of dollars were spent to make this vehicle drive like new.
- Interior is all original and is in excellent, nrestoredcondition. Everything works, ncluding the AC and original 8-track player. This car has been thoroughly gone throughmechanically over the past few years incuding:
- Gas tank clean and repair
- Carburator rebuilt
- Front shocks, bushings, heel bearings, xlesand idler arm replaced
- Rear wheel bearings re-packed
- Rear air shocks replaced and self-levelling system repaired
- Brake system flushed, ew front calipers, ads and rotors all around, ear brake lines replaced
- Belts, oses, hermostat, adiator and heater valve replaced
- Battery and Alternator replaced
- AC system charged
- New tires installed appx 8K miles ago, heel alignment performed
- Front headlamps replaced with Halogen units, djusters replaced
- Intake manifold gaskets and vacuum lines replaced
- Transmission serviced with new fluid and filter
- Recent full tune up; plugs, ires, ir filters (Delco parts)
- Oil changes every 3K miles under current ownership with Mobil 5000 oil
- Interior very clean with little wear- all original, ll accessories work including cruise control
The bad:
- Rust is popping up in the rear quarters and at the bottoms of the doors and fenders- No structural rust!
- Vehicle was resprayed by the previous owner and proper rust repair was not done, ut paint is shiny. There is some crazing and surface rust on the roof.
- Filler panels are in need of replacement.
- One hubcap is missing, ut a non-painted one can be provided.
In short, f you are looking for a perfect base for a restoration this is it. Or just add fuel and drive anywhere. My client is selling his two daily drivers to make room for another project.
