Cadillac DeVille 1962 Description
You are looking at a SUPER SOLID, ERY ORIGINAL, 962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille with those beautiful lines and iconic fins. The body is very straight with no major issues, ar was repainted the original Newport Blue color before I bought it 10 years ago. I believe the 390CI V8 (advertised at 325 hp) and GM Hydra-Matic automatic transmission are the original numbers-matching units for this car, othing looks to have ever been messed with mechanically. The odometer shows 37K miles but does not work (speedometer works however) so actual mileage is unknown. The car runs, rives and stops very well and most items still work on the car. Within the past 6 months the car has new tires, une-up (plugs, il, ilters), elts, aster cylinder, rake hoses, nd wheel cylinders. Options include. . . power steering, ower brakes, ir conditioning, ower seat, ower windows, ower antenna and wheel covers. The car is a 20-footer and is not a show car, ut is perfect for cruise nights and needs nothing to enjoy immediately. Do not buy this car if you do not like to talk to people wherever you go, ecause it gets a lot of attention. The Body looks to be all original with no major damage or body work performed. She is very solid and straight with the repaint that'snice still with good shine. No rust bubbles at all on the body or around windows. There are some chips in the paint here and there since it has been driven and enjoyed. The trunk is verysolid with no signs of rust. The condition of the chrome and bright work is good to nice condition. Most stainless just needs polishing and buffing. The chrome is not pitted but is weathered and will need to be rechromed if you want it perfect. Bumpers are nice and straight except for the dent in the rear as seen in the pics. The glass is in great condition with the only issue being the vent windows showing some bubbling from age. The weatherstripping appears to be original and is in pretty good condition.
The Interior appears to be all original and is in very good condition. Seats and door panels (cloth and leather) are still very nice and soft. Dash and dash pad are nice, ower dash paint is worn somewhat. Headliner is in great shape. Everything works on the dash except gas gauge, emp gauge, dometer, adio and ac (compressor actually turns on but does not blow cold). The power windows do operate but not the power seat. The steering wheel is in great condition! Lights, urn signals work fine. Kick panels are worn and have been removed and are in the trunk. Original trunk liner is dirty but is stillthere indicating how well cared for this car has been.
The Drivetrain appears to be original. The 390 4-barrel V8 starts andruns great...the car idles, rives, nd shifts without issues.Power brakes and steering both workgreat without issues.
The Undercarriage is in nice condition too. The floor pans and frame are original and in good condition. Newer exhaust is in excellent shape and sounds just right!! New radial tires were installed recently. Spare tire in trunk.
Very much a turn-key Caddy that is perfect for cruise nights and local shows -- it's a lot of fun for the money and the value of this classic will never go down. Or turn it into a show winner orcool custom with very little effort.
