Exterior Restoration within last 10 years

Runs and Drives Great, Road Ready

We purchased this car at auction. It had been restored within the last 10 years for the purpose of the previous owner to enjoy, which from what I understand, he did. The car purportedly was driven on ROUTE 66 once or twice, and was driven on several crusin' road rally style tours. The previous owner had it in storage for 4 to 6 years from what I understand, which in that time several things went "down hill" on the condition of the car. As we all know, a car is meant to be driven, not parked, which is hard on them. When we purchased the car, it had a dead battery, headlights didn't work, carb was "poppy", etc etc. We put in a new battery, repaired the headlight ground wire, rebuilt the carb, tuned up the engine with new cap, button, wires, plugs, flushed the fuel system, replaced fuel hose and filter, re-filled tank with fresh gas, and she came ALIVE, and ran good. We then went through the brakes, checked and/or serviced all the fluids, checked all the suspension, and replaced the rear air shocks with new air shocks. We've driven the car a few hundred miles to try it all out, and its ready to jump in and take off and enjoy, with the exception of a few small things; the factory a/c system operates, but doesn't have an Freon in it, which the system is set up for R-12, which is hard to find around here, or it could be easily converted to R-134A, so theres a quick couple hundred of dollars to fix that up. The passenger rear window does not roll up or down, don't know if its the switch or motor, never checked. The interior of the car is all original, with its slightly cracked dash, and older carpet, old yet nice condition, and the seats have minor cracking a few stitches loose here and there. The headliner is all good, except on small quarter size tear by the rear driver coathook. The exterior of the car, all the body, was professionally restored at the purported cost of around 15,000 dollars within the last 10 years. To make a perfect car, the interior needs replaced, to make a driver that you can put you and your family in and drive around the old car shows and cruise, fix the window motor and the A/C, and your done. We only bought the car to save it from its endless doom of storage, we done our thing, which is mechanicals, enjoyed it several trips around, and now its ready for its new owner to take and enjoy and wax and care for.
