Cadillac DeVille 1976 Description

OK I have had quite a few enquiries on this sale. Let me say now that the car you see here is NOT a renovated model, nor is it in 'as new' show condition. If it were either of those it would be a lot more money. What it is though is a wonderful example of the classic 1976 Coupe De Ville. Finished in Firemist Blue with white vinyl top, white leather interior. I had the original radio/8 track removed and a vintage style radio/cd changer installed. It looks very cool, just like an original AM radio but it is also an FM stereo radio and cd changer with a 6 cd unit in the trunk. I had Seville springs installed and new shocks so she rides a little higher (1/2inch) otherwise speed bumps can be troublesome. Also has a remote locking/alarm fitted. This car was owned by a lady who rarely drove it. I bought it from her son who said that it stayed in town because when his family went on any trips they went in his Father's car. When I purchased the vehicle it had a genuine 32K on the clock. I drove to California and back and she never missed a beat. I have driven this car to the Gulf Coast and back many times without any problems. I put this vehicle into storage some 5 years ago intending to bring her out when I returned after a 4 year term in Europe. It has the 500ci engine and GM400 transmission. These cars are bullet proof. Can be heard with engine running and driven back and forth in my driveway. Brakes work, engine starts and steering all fine. She has an Antique Tag.

Current: I derusted the rear trunk interior and sealed it. It will need recarpeting. I stripped the vinyl roof off and repaired and primed the back window surround. She is clear of rust anywhere else apart from some slight surface rust underneath, they built these cars like tanks. A friends Father who worked on these cars told me that Cadillacs were made to much higher tolerances that other GM cars. Even the metal used was of superior grade. The car will need a new vinyl top (around $300) and eventually a paint job, carpets and the front seat could do with recovering. There are cracks in the passenger armrest but replacements are readily available. Other than that the interior is in fine original condition with a clean, no cracks dash. I have the new door seals but she will also need new window seals ($142 per side from Steel & Rubber). I have removed some of the trim but it is all there including the wheel spats and the original wire wheel covers. I have run the car around the block a few times and she runs and drives really well especially for a 40 year old vehicle, no 'floppy' steering like most old cars. She will need to be tuned, fluids replaced and maybe new pads on the front discs (I have them and will include in the sale). Some minor work and new tires ($380 for white walls) and she will run perfectly. I have some heavy duty jack stands that I will include. I will also include a full set of workshop manuals, vehicle and body. This is not a 'show' car but still a fabulous vehicle that never fails to impress. The last of the big, two door Caddies and I'm sad to see it go but it looks likely that I will be away for another three years so she needs a new Master!

Great opportunity to get your hands on one of these fast appreciating vehicles. With some TLC and elbow grease she will be a showstopper! $2500 cash.
