Cadillac Fleetwood 1966 Description

This one-owner 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham has been sitting in its owner's Birmingham warehouse, untouched, for 30 years. Taken off the road in 1985, the Fleetwood has just 63,000 miles and was placed in excellent dry storage. The prominent family that owned this top-of-the-line Cadillac wants it to go to a good home that will appreciate its mid-century splendor. As you'll see from my other auctions, they owned many Cadillacs over the years, placing the former models in storage when they bought a replacement. Other than this Brougham, there's a 1962 Fleetwood and 1941 Series 62 for sale. These are unmolested originals, ready restoration or to refurb to a daily-driver state.
What I've done: I aired up the tires and eased the Fleetwood out of its long hibernation this week. You can see inthe pictures that it was covered in a deep layer of dust. Because the dust hid a multitude of sins, I felt it best to give the car a wash so that you can see the many dings, dents, swirl marks, and scratches from 20 years on the road and 30 years of storage. The good news is that the original paint does shine up well and some elbow grease will make this Cadillac quite presentable. The interior is astounding. The top is nearly flawless aside from one very small nick on the driver's side C panel. Not only does this car have the full leather "all weather" interior, but it is also in very good shape. The headliner, door panels, seats, and carpet are all quite nice. The dash is a thing of beauty.
The car is very dry. Doors open and close with accuracy. The engine is complete, dry, and was last turned over approximately a year ago. It appears that it will come to life with ease, but rather than take it to ashop to get started, I am saving you the cost in the event you're a home mechanic and want to get her running yourself. Obviously, all the major systems will need to be examined and inspected before road use: tires, brakes, hoses, belts, fuel tank, etc.
Last note: I do not have a BUY-IT-NOW but am open to offersand will consider ending theauction early. The car is located in Birmingham, Alabama in a large warehouse fully accessible to tow trucks, trailers, and so forth. Note: Alabama does NOT title cars manufactured prior to 1976, so in accordance with state law, this Cadillac will only come with a signed, notarized bill of sale for transfer of ownership.
I have owned 50 old Cadillacs and am a member of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club and the Classic Car Club of America. I've bought crummy cars before off eBay that were poorly represented, so my effort here is to give you what I'd hope a seller would tell me: this is a good, dry, one-owner, low-mileage, well-optioned, original car. It even comeswith the original key holder from the dealer and delivery inspection sheet.
