Cadillac DeVille 1960 Description
A very clean original six window that I purchased in 2003 in Connecticut. Originally a funeral home car, I bought it from the third owner and have maybe put 6000 miles on it in 13 years. I am not sure how many miles as the odometer was not working when I purchased the car and it is not working now. The speedometer works. As a matter of fact everything else works (except the a/c of course) including blinkers on fenders, the power antenna, all the windows, all the interior lights, radio, trunk light, etc. etc. When I purchased the car the owner was very proud he had just had the clock professionally rebuilt and it was keeping perfect time. It is now only correct two times a day. The exterior is nice, good shine. It received a really good repaint at some point I would say. There is one area over the drivers side headlight that has scratches, (see picture) and one scuff/dent over right rear wheel and associated chrome. Bumpers and chrome are very good- the "DeVille" piece is missing on the drivers side rear fender. I actually do not know what happened to it. The interior is also very nice- headliner is perfect as is the dash. The panel next to the drivers feet is loose, and the rear passenger side "Holy Crap" strap is missing- another mystery as it was there - employees kids seem to love this car and I suspect that might have something to do with it! The drivers side window has weird swirls along one edge (I took a picture but it's hard to see). The trunk is very clean and original. It runs and drives excellent although transmission tends to shift abruptly when going into third if under hard acceleration. Just had the original master cylinder and brake booster rebuilt- power brakes are perfect as is the power steering. I put new tires on several days after I purchased the car as it still had the original bias ply on, so the tread is nearly new. Feel free to come and inspect.
