Cadillac Other 1959 Description
I recently purchased a restored Cadillac and am selling my two '59 Cadillacs. This auction is for the flat top sedan. If you would like to own both, please feel free to reach out to me. The coupe is going to be in another auction. This is a nice running flat top driver. The engine doesn't burn oil, knock, or overheat. It has a brand new dual exhaust system on it. The carburetor has been rebuilt, and a fresh tune up performed. The distributor has a Pertronix Ignitor module in it (no more points), with a matching Pertronix coil. The water pump and thermostat have been replaced in addition to the fuel pump. Other repairs made to get it to driver status, was having the gas tank and radiator boiled out and sealed.
All of the exterior lights and signals work. The instrument cluster needs to be looked at. The gas and temp gauges work most of the time though. I feel it could be a loose wire situation. The speedometer needs a new cable. The power windows do not work at the moment.
The interior of this car obviously needs to be fully restored. There are two missing door panels on the passenger side. The rear seat back is also missing. I did not get them with the car when I purchased it. The expensive horn ring in this car is in great shape.
A lot of minor work has been put into the car to make it run and drive like it should. A new drive shaft carrier bearing was installed, new front shocks and many other nickel and dime pieces to make the car reliable.
The body overall is in good shape. It does have some bubbling happening under this old paint job in a couple places. The car is NOT a rust bucket though. Please see pictures for more details. The rust is shown. The car was originally a pale yellow color, as can be seen on the firewall.
Overall its been a great running car and very reliable. It hasn't let me down 1 time in the years I've owned it.
