Cadillac DeVille 1946 Description
All original and unmolested rare beauty. I purchased this car from a 2nd owner in the state of WA who owned it for over 30 years and only drove around in parades and car show. It is not a rotisserie restoration but almost (i.e., everything else but the undercarriage). The car is rust free. Here are details of the restoration:1. Body and paint from a professional body shop in Orange County, CA2. New seals and gaskets in the flathead motor and tranny, all fluid change including the brakes.3. Rebuilt generator4. Rebuilt hydraulic system and new cylinders for powering the two main front widows, seat and convertible top. All works and works great!5. Rebuilt starter5. Added fuel primer for quick start up6. New AGM 6 volt Optimum battery for quicker charge, much better than standard acid batteries7. All the major lights work, including the spot light, front blinkers, rear brake and tail lights. Foglight will need new filament, I haven't had a chance to swap out the bulb filament8. New 52-spoke (stainless steel, not chrome) wheels with coker wide white walls.9. Ceramic coated header pipes10. New carpeting and door panels11. All exterior moldings and trims, door handles, bumpers and grill, window moldings are all triple plated re-chromed. All interior parts also re-chromed including gauge trims and dash components. Spent about $10k on the re-chrome for those who know how expensive chroming these days is.13. All new weatherstrip
Items that do not work: radio, windshield motor, heater, fuel and temperature gauge.
The canvas convertible top is very decent, has a slit (but not all the way through near the back of the passenger side) of about 1" long. To make a show car, a new top costs $1000-1200. The trunk has undercoating and will need carpeting.
The car starts right up and drives like a cadillac. The car is being sold locally so I have the right to end the auction at any time. There is a nonrefundable $1000 deposit at the end of the auction. This is a NO RESERVE auction. Any questions, email me or call 626-409-8650, serious inquiries only and no scammers.
