Here is a brand new 26-year old survivor Cadillac by General Motors, with only 26 miles on it! Not 26,000 miles, 2,600 miles or 260 miles, but 26 total miles. The exterior is metallic dark blue with a blue leather interior.

This might be the only pristine 1991 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance survivor in the world. It presents a unique opportunity to own a stellar example of "Detroit Iron", that floats down the road with that smooth "Detroit Magic" ride.

I ordered and purchased this car new in 1991, and have stored it up on blocks for 26 years. My original plan was to have it in storage a few years and then drive it, but it ended up staying in storage all of it's life.

Throughout its storage, I started it every 6 months, refreshing the gas each time. It has only experienced sunshine a handful of times since I took delivery, to wash, transport or photograph it. It has NEVER! been in the rain since I took delivery. The only part that is not original is the battery, which I replaced in 2017.

All of my purchase documents are included with the car. It was assembled at the Arlington GM Assembly plant in Texas in 1991.

Original uncut GM Cadillac key blanks
that came with car are included.

Everything you would get with a new Cadillac in 1991 is provided with this sale. The original window sticker, purchase agreement / bill of sale, owners manual, promotional CD, promotional cassette tapes (2), warranty cards and brochures, are all included. Even the four blank uncut gold like keys are included in their original pouch.

Below is an image of the car's window sticker, listing all the car's features. The window sticker has a couple of taped tears hear the top. Since it was stored folded, some of the printed text crossed over from one side to the other . . .

OPTIONS

This car came with the standard luxurious features listed on the window sticker above. Added options included the d'Elegance Leather Seating ($2445) with the plush tufted leather seats, front and back. It also has the AM/FM/CD/Cassette Delco sound system ($396) and the Automatic Day/Night Mirror ($110). The Brougham Option Package C ($360) provides the fuel filler door remote release and theft-deterrent security system.

As part of the 7,000 lbs (brochure says 5,000 lbs, window sticker says 7,000 lbs) Trailer Towing Package option ($549), the car has the rare 5.7 Liter Engine. Most of these cars were produced with the standard 5.0 Liter engine. You can tell by the stance of a car if it is a 5.7 car without reading the back label. They sit up higher. The 5.7 has more muscle, yet is matched with comfortable handling for a big car. The car has the, now hard to find, gold stripe Royal Seal tires, with the standard 15" wheel coverings.

The Cadillac was undercoated by the Cadillac dealer prior to delivery, thus there is little if any rust on the underside of the car from atmospheric moisture. I stored it 17 years in Nevada and 9 years in Utah, all dry climates, and always inside.

END OF ERA

The 1991 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance represents the end of an era of big roomy cars. This body style ran for 12 years (1980-1992), making it the one of the longest running platforms in GM history.

As a whole, the rear wheel drive Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance was from an era of a classy looking well built cars with lots of room, chrome, style and appeal. The car weighs 4,200 lbs. Producing large cars with the intricate trim, chrome and detail became uneconomical, so the General Motors made a quick exit from these cars in the 1990's. Many of these big Cadillac cars were used up and discarded as people shunned their large size and poor fuel economy. You can not buy a big Cadillac like this today. The Cadillac is 18.5 feet long.

STORAGE & CONDITION

The car is 'like new', with a couple of exceptions. The original battery has been replaced, and the air conditioning system needs a recharge, which I will have done prior to delivery.

The car was stored up on blocks to protect the tires. The car was always covered with a car cover, and then a plastic sheet over the car cover to reduce dust and dirt from reaching the car's paint surface. The car has been stored inside for its entire life. I started the car every six months, letting it run in gear for a few minutes.

I took delivery of the car from the dealer with 15 miles on the odometer. There are now 26 miles on it. Half of these additional miles are non-miles, since when I started the car every 6 months, I would place it in drive and let it run for a few minutes. Since the car was up on blocks, the wheels would spin, adding to the odometer reading each time.

INSPECTION

Inspections are welcome. I can start the car, but no test drives. Ask questions by calling me at ( 8 0 1 ) 8 1 5 - 9 2 6 5.

WARRANTY

Based on my experience starting the car every 6 months, the car appears to start and run smoothly.

But with that said, this car is being sold in an as-is, where-is, condition, without a warranty of any kind. No warranties are expressed or implied. You will have to judge for yourself from my listing, and any personal inspection you make, as to whether you want to own this unique car. The air conditioning no longer cools, but other than that, I know of no other ailment. If the winning bidder desires, I can have a trusted local garage come to my home to check and recharge the air conditioning system prior to delivery.

Nonetheless, the car has been garaged for 20 years, and stored cars can develop hidden problems while sitting. If you plan on driving the car, you should have your auto mechanic go through it thoroughly. Except for refreshing the gas every 6 months, new antifreeze, and new oil, no other fluids have been changed over the 26 years.

TITLE

There is no title for the car, since I have never titled it. I told the Montana Registrar of Motor Vehicles, where I purchased the car, that I had no plan to drive the car and did not want to license it, so they sent me the original General Motors Certificate of Origin For A Vehicle. Most states and countries, after reviewing all the supporting original documentation that is included with this car, should not have a problem titling the car.

Having this original General Motors certificate for this extraordinary Cadillac is extremely rare . . .

Original GM "Certificate of Origin"

SHIPPING

Cost of shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I will make the car available to a shipper you arrange to pick up the car. International bidders are welcome, but you must handle all the transport, customs and import/export details. The car is located about 40 miles from the Salt Lake City International Airport. The Las Vegas International Airport is about 400 miles away by highway.

PAYMENT TERMS & METHODS

The successful bidder will submit a $2000 deposit within two (2) days of the successful bid to secure the vehicle, and pay the remaining balance within fourteen (14) days of the successful bid, by bank wire. The vehicle will not be released until after the total amount has been has paid, verified and cleared to my satisfaction.

Buyer is responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle may be registered. International buyers are responsible for all taxes and fees in their country, including all import fees and duties.

WHY THE ASKING PRICE OF $235,000?

My plan is to drive this car, but my wife insisted that I offer it for sale, in case someone wants it more than I do. If we do not sell this at a good price, then we will start driving and enjoying it ourselves. I am not a motivated seller. This is not a fire sale. Only consider this car if you really want it.

Thank you for considering this automobile.
