Cadillac Allante 1991 Description
Drop dead gorgeous 1991 Allante with only 40,000 miles on it….hit a deer and the insurance company decided to total it out. I would not let them crush this beauty so I bought it for salvage. SOMEBODY is going to have one great car here.Look at the pictures and you will see the damage is to the hood, rille, nd radiator support. Has not lost the radiator coolant and starts right up and does not overheat. Airbags DID NOT deploy. Doors are perfectly aligned and open with no contact with the front fenders.
Car has brand new brakes (pads and rotors) all the way around; just finished having the top rear pull down motor rebuilt; new plugs, ires and a few injectors. To put it politely, his car roars. Windows and all switches work; automatic temp control and a/c work nice; and it gets about 26mpg on the road. Top is a nice tight fit, as a few wearmarks by the hinges, nd the headliner is torn by the back window.
Stereo comes on and powers up the antenna but no sound. I presume it is the legendary Bose amplifier that needs to be fixed. The Bose anti-lock brakes need something but I do not know what. Has a GM rebuilt system on board, ut the anti lock still does not work. Brakes bring the car to a straight stop from 60 mph but there is amodulation in the pedal. No safety issue but should be fixed.
Bottomline is I took the insurance money and bought a new 1993 Allante, o the garage space is awaiting.
I listed this so low because I really want an Allante lover to buy this car. Mileage is verified by Carfax, nd I put 6,000 miles on it this summer….quite frankly could not keep my hands off it…lol. Insurance company valued the car at $10,500 due to low mileage and spotless rust free body. Even with a salvage title this car will be worth over $5,000 when repaired…and what a summer car it is.
Bid with confidence. I have a 100% approval rating on Ebay and this is my 10th Allante…all happy buyers.
Opportunity. What more can I say. Oh yes….an Allante lover in Pennsylvaniahas a hood, rille and core support for $750.
Car is located in Chagrin Falls Ohio just outside Cleveland. Can readily drive it up on a transport. Only issue is the radiator cap is rubbing against the A/C pulley.
Late Note: I was out fussing with the car last night and realizedbefore the accident I had taken both electrical motors off the top headerto send them to an ebay rebuilder. they were the ones who did a great job rebuilding the rear pull down motor this summer. Both motors had been somewhat cranky this summer. Then again, he top was only up twice! Anyhow I just reinstalled the motor on the drivers side as it was the most reliable and the passenger side is in a box. Little known allante fact: With these Phase II tops one motor alone gets you a great seal that is tight and wind/water proof at 70 mph. I also noticed that on the drivers side there is a fixable 2" wear tear in the top at the hinge that is so typical of Allantes. Full Disclosure is my motto.
