Cadillac Eldorado 1981 Description
Looking for a great classic car without breaking the bank? Look no further! This Cadillac is going to do nothing but increase in value! Very few Biarritz models were produced. You will get many thumbs ups when crusing in the beauty. The Biarritz models are hard to find. 72,500 original miles and it shows! This car looks and rides awesome! Recent maintenace including brakes, une up, ires, amp; more. This Caddy also has the continental kit and a Rolls Royce grill (original included). For 1981, adillac offered the V8-6-4 variable displacement variant of the 368 engine, hich was designed to deactivate some cylinders when full power was not needed, elping meet GM's government fuel economy ("CAFE") averages. It was a reduced bore version of the 1968 model-year 472, haring that engine's stroke and also that of the model-year 1977--1979 425. The engine itself was extremely rugged and durable, ut its complex electronics were the source of customer complaints.
1981 was the first year electronic "digital" instrumentation was an available option. In addition to the digital electronic climate control that was standard on all Eldorados, he standard analog speedometer and fuel gauges could be replaced with digital displays with features displaying gallons of remaining fuel and approximate range.
This the only year the 6-8-4 was offered, nd the last year you could get a reliable, 68 CID - 6.0 liter big block engine in a Cadillac (except they still used it in the commercial limo chassis for a couple more years).
