Chevrolet Camaro 1979 Description

I'm looking to sell my Camaro I've owned for over 17 years that I estimate to be 65% restored- it was repainted in the early 90's. I've over $12k invested and another $1k in NEW goodies waiting to be installed (i.e. Ride-tech Strong Arms tubular control arms, performance coil springs, SFCs, +more). The high compression (10:1), blue-printed/balanced V8 350 engine, and most everything else, has about 700 miles on it and was built from Golens Engine Service out of Massachusetts about 16 years ago. The engine has a Comp Cams Magnum 280 camshaft with .480 lift. She has a 3.73 Posi rear with a B&M TorkMaster 2800 stall converter- very drivable! The car has been garaged for as long as I've owned it. I take it for a ride up and down the block a few times every year to keep things moving. There are way too many upgrades (Koni suspension, headers w/ dual exhaust, Holley 670 Street Avenger carb, Edelbrock 409 wheels with 255/45/17 tires, etc...) to list here that have been done over the years. The windshield has a spider crack, I was planning on replacing that when the body and paint was complete. She drives just fine and can easily be a daily driver if your so inclined. The interior is in excellent condition with a new headliner, carpet and features a Grant polished aluminum/leather steering wheel with a B&M shifter for the auto trans. The tranny leaks a bit from the main pump seal, but shifts beautifully- It's my belief that a shifter kit had been installed. I have the original setup/spec sheet for the engine- it was designed to put out 350hp, but could easily put out another 75hp with decent aluminum heads. She can smoke the rears even now, but I wanted to set her up to handle too- alas, the Koni suspension and Global West coil springs. Lastly, the speedometer was replaced with a 130mph Z28 one, so it shows 10,xxx miles on it, I simply recall the old 85mph max speedo last count was around 79k. Also, since the original 2.73 peg leg pumpkin was replaced with 3.73 Posi, the speedo gear needs to be updated for it to reveal your actual speed as it reads HIGH.
The car comes with nearly $1000 of extras to include: NIB Bluetooth radio, SSM Sub Frame connectors, Replacement Drivers side door panel, NIB Drivers door hinges, NIB Passenger side rocker panel, New/spare upper front grill, Replacement front headlight harness with retrofit H4 headlight enclosures and bulbs, NEW front rotor/hub with bearings and seal, Spare set of rear tires with 95% tread left, and a couple filters. Also, I purchased a new battery 6 weeks ago and the fuel pump was replaced at that time too. The shifter cable was replaced in December with a Hi-Perf B&M too.
The car biggest weakness is the drivers rear quarter panel, I don't think it needs to be replaced, but it does need work. With the body complete, this is definitely a $10k+ car, so it's worth a modest investment IMO, you will see a return on your investment.
UPDATE: The upper Ride-Tech tubular control arms and Global West coil springs have been installed, together they lower the front end by 3". As a result of lowering the car, I purchased a pair of 235/40/17 tires so they would fit inside the wheel wells and not rub, the result of this is extra set of 255mm wide tires for the rear for someone to melt, lol.
Someone with the hours and ability to to complete the body work and lay down paint can turn this into a really nice car and sell for more than they invest.
* Listen people, if your expecting a 300+ HP minted out show car for under $4500, this is NOT the car for you, please don't waste my time. Expect every body panel to need light to moderate work from a seasoned body guy, this is a daily driver with the performance where it counts. If the body was as good as the rest of the car, I'd be selling it for TWICE the listed price. I believe a body guy worth his salt can fix the drivers door, but I've seen doors for $100 and with the NEW door hinges provided, she'll hang wonderfully and you can probably get the entire drivers side repainted and rust taken care of for $1k bucks which in my opinion resolves 2/3 of the aesthetics. Parts for these 2nd GEN Camaros are widely available and easily procured, if you have the skills to this kinda work yourself, then this car is a no-brainier.
*8/10/2016- I just added the engine spec sheet from Golens, remember- I paid an extra $250 at the time this engine was ordered to have it balanced and blueprinted, this means that GES weighed the connecting rods and other components of the engine to be within grams of each other before final assembly. When I ordered the engine in 2000, Golens sales pitch was lifetime warrenty on the engine! Engine runs smooth (but a bit rich- I'm not a carb guy) and was mounted in Polyurethane engine mounts.

NO warrenty is implied or given, the car is almost 40 years old, it sells AS-IS. I have done my best to accurately describe and educate the buyer.Title is, of course, CLEAR and in-hand.

This listing will be updated as I recall more stuff done/pertinent:-Subframe bushings were replaced-Proform? billet aluminum distributor with MSD ignition module-100 amp alternator-Gas tank replaced- Summit Racing aluminum differential cover-Headliner and sun visors were reupholstered-Drivers seat has a couple small tears in it-A bit of info on the Edelbrock 409 rims: You will likely never see another set in the 17" size. They were made by Ultra Wheels for only 2 years 2001/2002 I believe, I waited months to receive mine. I learned that there were some production issues and less than 100 sets were ever actually produced. They are an updated design of the classic 5-spoke and are easily polished with a buffing wheel and paste and look awesome- I'm not a fan of chromed wheels (too much bling) albeit the aluminum requires more work to keep clean, unless they are clear powder coated. Some goober is here on EBay trying to sell a NIB 16" set these rims for $5500! IMO, the 17" size is even more desirable. So, they're is significant value in just the wheels on this car.
