Chevrolet Other 1941 Description

1941 CHEVY COE TRUCK
I purchased this truck from the son of the original owner. The gentleman I bought it from started driving this truck when he was FOUR years old. His father would put it in low gear and stand him on the seat to steer while he worked out of the grain bed. The truck was used on their farm for many years. The engine then had problems, nd it was parked. These COE's look great restored to original, ut also make nice rod projects. Many reproduction parts are sold for the pickups and are the same as the COE. There are a lot of creative ways people have restored these trucks. They put flatbeds, amp bodies, ollbacks, ampers, nd pickup boxes on them. Regular 8-9' stepside boxes from the era look great. Restoration pieces are made to build a bed out of scratch, ncluding tailgates. I've seen custom crew cabs built out of these, nd suburbans/panels too. I have some experience shipping vehicles and can help with that process. Clear title. If you want to do something early on the truck, mail or send your number and I can call. Thanks.
MECHANICAL
This truck has the original complete drivetrain. I'm pretty sure it's a 216. The owner said it was not running when parked. I can check and see if the engine is stuck, f it matters to you. The 216 was not a great motor when new and if your going for original style, any people switch to a 235 which has more power and durability. I know many buyers will also repower with a V8 or diesel engine which is a better option in my opinion. It rolls and steers fine. I have not tried the brakes. This is electric start but the original auxillary hand crank is included and the original lug wrench.
BODY
This truck has the original paint, o bondo, nd is nearly rust free. It has one small rust spot in the outer skin of the cab. This is on the low edge, n the middle in the back exterior of the cab. It looks like an easy patch for a bodyman. The floors, oors, oof, rame, enders, ood, ams, teps, tc. are very clean and solid. No sign of any rust through or pinholes. This truck has some dents/dings that will need ironed out but the fenders aren't too bad for a 41. The hood is very straight. The doors and hood open and latch properly. Windshield trim from the middle is gone but the piece the trim attaches to is included. All glass is flat and some needs replaced.
INTERIOR
Interior is original. Seat needs redone obviously. Gauges and dash look original. The floorpans have wood access doors, hich is original. They may need work/replacing. It's just plywood. Floors under the seat springs are just as nice as the rest.
OVERALL
These COE trucks get tons of attention at the car shows. There are many online pics to see how they are fixed up and get ideas for your truck. Below are some other coe's so you can see the potential. Thanks, nd happy bidding.
