Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1954 Description
I have my 54 Chevy Bel Air for sale. It is a 2 door sedan with the original 235 CI straight six and manual 3-speed on the tree transmission. It has a custom suspension running airbags on all four corners. The front suspension is the original king pin suspension with 2 in dropped up rights modified to fit airbags. The rear is a custom link suspension using the original torque tube rear end. Newer wheels and tires, heel Vintique wheels with Coker wide white wall tires. The brake system has been upgraded to a split master cylinder for safety as well. The car starts easily, lthough recently it has developed a drivability issue. I have let it sit for almost two years and it still starts right up and idles easily. The issue now is in the carburetor. I have tried a quick clean and rebuild of the carb but the jets seem to remain clogged and the accelerator pump is not functioning correctly. Part of this might be because of the fuel that is in the tank it may be pretty old. Other than this issue the car ismechanicallysolid. It does have its rust issues. The floors are themain issue. They need to be replaced in the foot wells at the front and rear. There needs to be a trunk floor fabricated. The frame was notched 10 inches to get the back end as low as it is and the floor was never replaced where it was cut out for the notch. The paint is old, t has a nice patina. I have included pictures of the right side quarter panel where the body work and paint has started peeling. Also there is a picture of the area below the trunk lid that is rusting out. Pictures of the floor do not really show much because they have been covered in fiberglass to seal up the small rust holes. I would recommend replacing at some point. The odometer reads around 8900 miles but I find it hard to believe that is accurate. Unless it has rolled over and is closer to 108900 miles.
I dont need to sell it, just dont really have the time to finish the floors and really drive it like it needs to be. I have receipts for all the parts used to build this car. Also included is an exterior sun visor that has never been installed also I have the original rear fender skirts. For the full buy it now price I would be willing to purchase a new rebuilt carb and get the car driving again. Thanks for looking.
