Chevrolet Other Pickups 1957 Description
For sale in Altoona, PA: My freshly restored 1957 Chevrolet 3100 - all work was done by professionals, no amateur work on this pickup. This beautiful Suzuki Sapphire Blue metallic truck has recently underwent a full frame on restoration. This is a rust free step side originally from California with all the good stuff installed. This is truly a turnkey truck which needs nothing done to it. Power comes from an Edelbrock 600 CFM carb & cam kit all mounted to a Weind intake with a blueprinted 1967 Chevelle 327 V8 (325 HP originally – now, who knows!) with headers, double camel hump heads, a Corvette dual chamber master cylinder is mounted under floor with a booster can and a smoothed firewall with a remote mounted master cylinder reservoir. This engine has oil pressure of 55 PSI at 1630 RPM. All this power is sent through a smooth shifting rebuilt THM350 automatic transmission. The OEM firewall located battery was replaced with a new Optima group 78 battery in a drop down frame mounted box tied into a new chrome 100 amp alternator. All of this electricity is supplying the new fuse box through #8 gauge wiring with the proper fusible links and also an auto-reset breaker for safety. Also the OEM floor mounted high beam switch was moved to the steering wheel dash bracket for a cleaner look. The engine exhausts through chrome headers and a FlowMaster tuned system. A HD large flow aluminum radiator keeps this engine nice and cool. The rear wheels are tied to a '78 Caprice 10 bolt posi rear end housing 3.23 gears with all new springs, shackles, etc. Since the full restoration, the truck has covered a modest 2,500 miles. More than enough to work out any fresh build bugs and low enough to still look amazing. The actual miles on the truck is 78,500 and I set the new gauges to that mileage. During the restoration the truck's fuel tank was removed and a 18 gal. fuel cell placed under the rear of the bed and also houses a carbon vent system. There's also new glass, new lights and a full new wiring harness along with blade style fuse box, new front bumper, grill, head lite cans & bezels, steel bed and the OEM Oak floor refinished w/ gas resistant sealer and of course all new SS bolts & bed strips, new door mechanics and seals, retractable black seat belts, a custom oversized chrome glove box with light and many other tid bit items. Aiding in an easy drive are 11" Power front disc brakes (new drums/shoes in the rear), Power steering, JW Rod Garage Mustang II IFS coil overs front suspension (tubular upper and lower control arms with rack and pinion steering) custom gray interior with double insulated floor and custom black HD loop carpet, a chrome tilt wheel with a beautiful banjo wheel. With the gas tank now removed from inside, there is a nice storage area behind the tilt able seat. No '57 Chevy is complete without the Cragar SS mags mounted to Cooper Cobra raised letter tires (P225/70R15 rear and P215/70R15 front). Factory gauges where replaced with Dakota Digital VHX-55C-PU-SW gauge cluster which does everything a new vehicle does and then some - research these - I guarantee you will fall in love. Also added was a vacuum gauge and analog clock along with an easy to reach round panel holding the display buttons for these Dakota gauges. These 3 are mounted into the center of the dashboard where they are easy to see and gives it a great look. All locks are new and keyed alike.
