Chevrolet C-10 1972 Description

This truck has lots of potential in the right hands. This is an all original matching numbers truck that runs and drives - looking for serious classic car/truck restorers, builders or collectors that know what the truck is worth restored. The 402 (bored 396 also referred on the fender emblem as 8-400) option in the half ton is extremely rare. Recently a C10 Cheyenne Super with the 402 option sold at Mecum for $57k.
I have links to videos of it running and driving if you would like to see them please message me for the links.
I picked up this truck over the summer with the intent of pulling the motor and transmission for a 1971 Suburban I have in my shop. However, when I got it back to the shop I discovered that this truck appears to be an all original matching numbers truck. It still had
most of the original factory build sheet that was still in the spring of the back seat. The 402 option in the Cheyenne Super is extremely rare. I have the motor running and the transmission is shifting thru all gears. The motor sounds really good maybe a little lifter tick on one side, but it hadn't ran in almost 10 years, so may go away with some run time. The carb and tanks will need to be gone thru of course for it to run reliably. The odometer reads 63,560 and I believe those are original miles and it has not been rolled over. All the factory rally wheels are on it and all the center caps and beauty rings are there. Just put a brand new set of 70,000 mile tires on it. Factory air, cargo light, power steering, power brakes (fronts are disc), etc - this was the top of the line Chevy in 1972. All the interior is original with the exception of no radio. All the white panels are cleaning up (they are all there including the headliner not shown). All good glass and windows roll up/down; vents open/close.
The drive train, glass, tires etc alone are worth the starting price.
For those who would want to get it and drive it immediately here is what you would need to do:
Brakes need to be bledCarb needs a rebuild or replacedTanks needto be cleaned and new fuel lines (has the factory tank behind the seat that I disconnected and side fiberglass tanks that I have it hooked up to since they were cleaner)
Forclassic car/truck restorer/builders:Myself I would body off, engine/trans out, restore frame/cab/bed bottom, re-gasket the entire motor and address any issues and match factory colors with new paint.
Wiring is in decent shape. Could be cleaned up or if it were me, probably replace most of it.
Rust in all the common spots of the cab, but certainly manageable. The worst of it is in the bed bottom of which I would go back with wood the bed front/sides/tailgate and bottom structure are salvageable. Up above the windshield inside the cab will need attention. The rockers will need work, but certainly not as bad as some I've seen.I would pull the motor and transmission just to go thru everything, new gaskets and paint.
For those who would like to buy this truck fully restored or resto-mod, please message me and we can talk about it - I restore or resto-modthese trucks as part of my business.
Any other questions, please message me.
Thanks for looking!
