Chevrolet Other Pickups 1953 Description

This is a very fine example of this series of Chevrolet trucks. It is a local truck from semi-arid western Nebraska/or eastern Colorado, so it is not rusty at all. We have this so it starts, runs, and stops fine. Truck looks, starts, runs, drives, and stops great. Brakes are up. Has three windows that are cracked(the guys in the shop replace these regularly, so if you want them fixed before it leaves here, talk to Nate for estimate). We polished a fairly straight 60+ year old farm truck. We also painted a few other things to make it totally respectable. Many companies and farmers painted the wheels red, so we did too(Merry Christmas). This also we be in our local Christmas parade on Sunday. As with any vehicle, there will be something that got missed or I forgot to mention. Please look pictures over closely before calling Nate. This is a solid pressure lubed 235, with a 4 speed, 2 speed axle, heater, and hoist. This one still has the factory spare tire carrier. The hoist controls are stuck, so they will need freed up to use that option. As our local auctioneers would say, "Now you can buy the good one". That really is not the case, but the last one had the 1947 slapper 216 in it. This has the better 235 engine, but it will need some plywood or ? on the bed. They are not all the same. Even though this is a neat old truck, it will bring a small percentage of what a pickup would bring. That being said, expect this to bring somewhere between $5,000 and $7,500, depending on who's watching(and bidding). A pickup would be an easy $20,000. BE CAREFUL BIDDING!!! It is a no-reserve auction? Your bid counts. You will be responsible for the shipping of your vehicle. We help load weekdays at no charge. We also have some carriers that we work with. This is 96" wide by 20.5' long. It is a great find and what you bid is all you pay, no extra fees. Keep in mind that most of our vehicles sell before the scheduled end of sale. Don't be afraid to give Nate a call for more information and possibly get it bought over the phone. Nate is 308 353 0605. Mike(Dad) is 308 353 8510. Check our feedback. We have been pickin' here since 1959, and that '40 Mercury that Dad picked as the first, is restored and sits with the rest of the herd in our museum. We understand show cars on this farm, 'cause we can build 'em. As one would expect, there are quite often 4 generations out here on the farm. Dad is 84 and maintains the museum vehicles. I am Mike, and the one recovering from back and leg surgery. Nate; is the active one, and when the girls aren't with him, he is in the shop with the help working on machinery and vehicles. We take some of the time to raise wheat and corn and anything else that is apparently worth nothing. Otherwise; some days we are working on semis and combines, some days we are polishing old hubcaps. Years ago I was selling a few too many vehicles, so the state department of motor vehicle sales invited me to get a dealer license, so we have been Dodson Motors, Inc. a licensed and bonded Nebraska dealer since 1986. Our family has been here since 1886. Our sales building is in town in a 1910 hardware building and that address is Dodson Motors, Inc., 219 N. Pennsylvania Ave., POB 206, Venango, NE 69168. We keep sold vehicles out at the farm, 2 miles from town, until they are picked up. We don't charge storage, but keep in touch. We don't store them for years. Be sure you have talked to your banker, wife, Grandpa, cat, or your preferred sympathetic(and financial) source before you bid, as you are entering into a contract with your bid. Contact us within 48 hours of winning bid and pay the $500 deposit(unless prior arrangements have been made with us), and pay remainder within 5 business days. No vehicles, parts, or titles leave here until payment has cleared our bank. We are currently getting less than 5 cents for the wheat in that loaf of bread, hence we sell things. Thanks, Mike Dodson.
