Chevrolet Camaro 1968 Description
I just finished this Bad Ass 68 RS Camaro. Shes got 880 miles on her now. Everything works as it should, even the high beam indicator! I've built alot of high end machines and am extremely detail oriented. This build is spotless, no excuses. Its been rotisserie restored to ensure complete restoration/preservation. All new sheet metal was used (except solid OEM doors) on this car. It's had some body modifications including 2nd gen mirrors, smoothed side marker lights, rain drip rails, split bumpers and slightly widened rear quarter panels to fit larger tires with out structural or suspension modifications and give the car bigger shoulders. It has a more muscular look then stock. Agai, this custom touch was done professionally on an English wheel with alot of patience. The wider wheel base also helps hug the highways with amazing grip! I used Detroit Speed and Engineering suspension parts as well as 4 wheel drilled and slotted power assisted brakes with Stainless lines/hoses,chrome booster and master. Posi rear with 3;73 gear, fast ratio power steering, all new steering linkage. Shes a real performer and would be alot of fun to autocross. I used Detroit Speed and Engineering's electronic RS headlight actuator/motor kit to flawlessly function the RS option. The grill has the chrome trim upgrade as well as the custom lower filler panels. The bumpers are custom one off. I wanted to create a one of a kind look for the front end and between the sweet spoiler and the bumpers she looks pretty slick. The Paint is PPG, cut and buffed. I used all new tinted window glass, seals, gaskets, fuzzies and regulators on final assembly. The windows work effortlessly and seal up wind/water tight. Doors open and close like a new car. One key works all the locks. The stainless molding is color matched and looks seamless. The Interior is clean and tight.I used TMI custom sport upholstery through out, including hand stitched dash pad, smooth one piece head liner, premium door panels and one off hounds tooth seat covers. I used New Vintage electronic gauges and a professionally rebuilt/restored OEM Tilt steering column. I use GM steering columns because there designed with a collapsible safety feature that is not available with aftermarket steering column. Its worth the little extra and its made in the USA. The new stereo system sounds great, with help from using sound deadener/insulation covered sealed cockpit. I mean this car is so tight it could float! Also helps keep the Vintage Air HVAC system very efficient. The Drivetrain is all rebuilt. Engine is a "forged steel" 350ci (010) small block thats completely rebuilt by a life long master engine builder/machinest. We used 1970 z28 heads (3927187) the best ! All new valves matched springs, screw in studs, rebuilt rods new hp forged pistons, roller rockers, electronic billet distributor and HP fuel pump. I opted for chrome Saden a/c compressor, chrome alternator and chrome HP mini starter. All the tins are chrome from oil pan to the air cleaner. Stainless braided power steering hoses. Shes got a strong heart.. Transmission is a rebuilt Muncie wide ratio, shifted by 1969 Hurst roundbar. Drive shaft is freshly rebuilt/balanced and painted glossy Black. Rear Axle is posi with 3;73 gear ratio. Heating and air conditioning is done by Vintage Air with upgraded rebuilt factory GM a/c controller. Rather then cheesey round knobs. Wheels are American racing 327s 17x8 and 17x10 4 1/2 bs front and rear. Tires are sticky Nitto G2s 245/45-17 and 315/35-17. I sprayed the wheels with removable plastic coat. I also show her with a set of custom orderd Boyds Wheels, your choice. One or the other set - let me know at auction end. Or we can work both sets in the deal..There's alot of time, thought and money invested in this hot rod. Please call Brian for details 954-918-4603It's built to enjoy.
