Thanks for reading entire ad before sending questions.
1969 Camaro LM1 factory Olympic gold with black deluxe interior, turbo 350, power steering, consol car.
Yes this is a X44 car, yes it has X-4 on rear bulkhead.
Was originally 4-wheel manual drum, upgraded using 69 Camaro components to disc front still drum rear. Rear gears also changed from open 2 series, to 3.55 posi (Eaton posi, Yukon gears). I did remove the vinyl top, after replacing the roof wanted everyone to see how great it looks. The original plan for the car was fix the body, sort out the mechanicals, make safe and keep all the patina under the hood, and under carriage. NOT RUNNING, still in project form, but a good car person could have up and on road in week or 2 of evenings.
Car was pulled from a north New Jersey barn 10 plus years ago. I purchased 8 years ago this May. Clear NJ title in my name, in my hand. The car was rough when I got it, please see the photos. Body was very very solid for a north east car but still needed love. I gave it A LOT of love. I think I have had every major component in my hand at some point or another. Make no mistake, this car IS NOT untouched, it also is NOT restored. It has been stripped to bare metal and painted base coat clear coat, the rust has been repaired WITH METAL. For photos of the metal work please go to the website for Bob Gallo Restorations, to Camaro section, and see “Camaro Metal Work. That is this car. Of course due to my clumsiness there are a couple (yes like 2) scratches in the paint, both very fixable. The original front fenders were repaired, original quarters repaired, floor repaired, dash repaired, Dutchman’s panel repaired, trunk floor repaired. The gaps are very nice and consistent and OEM correct, this is not show car but oem correct. The repo hood does not fit 100% perfect. Off by about 1/16 front to rear. The front and rear bumpers are rechromed, the rear bumperettes are NOS, all glass trim is original. The emblems are excellent quality repo. All weather strip has been replaced. The passenger door has a repo skin, the hood is repo, and roof is repo. All glass is oem, windshield is 69 Camaro glass but not original to the car, the rest of the glass is. The trans has been rebuilt (seal went bad, and since was out anyway did a stock rebuild) the trans is original, has vin on bellhousing, the pan is also correctly coded for the car (bet you did not know about that code). The wheels are 14X6 disc brake wheels they are from an early 70’s Nova (this is correct size for LM1, COPO got 14X7), and 5 Polyglass GT F70X14 tires. New repo fuel tanks with straps, gaskets, and sending unit all installed. The engine is original all numbers match, no noise, no smoke, no issues so did not rebuild. It was out of the car but other than an external cleaning, nothing done to it. Original block, heads, intake, carb, distributor, air cleaner, exhaust manifolds, voltage regulator, alternator, blower motor, original radiator has been recored but correct tanks and tags are there on the radiator, replacement date coded rebuilt starter, not certain on the water pump. Original ing wires are on the car, but have date coded replacement set included. Replacement correct part number belts, heater hoses, rad hoses, and date coded tower clamps are included, again these are correct, not generic replacement parts. I did not paint the firewall, inner fenders, rad support to keep the original look of the engine bay. This is a very VERY correct car.
The replacement parts are more for safety; I have replaced all the wiring harnesses with American Auto wire harnesses. The front light harness is installed; the engine harness needs to be installed. The rear harness, and front to rear harness is installed. New battery clables9 spring type correct) Repo WET cell battery. The rear brakes are all new from In Line Tube, the front brakes (yes 2 piece rotors) and calipers are also from In Line Tube also all new brake and fuel lines from In Line Tube (not installed but included) Suspension has been rebuilt using US components, not NOS but US suppliers. New springs front and rear (rear are 5 leaf, but do not have the same cut on the leaf ends as originals) New ball joint, arm bushings, center link, idler arm, pitman arm all installed, but still needs to be aligned. Passenger lower control arm has a bend to it, I have a replacement arm with new ball joint and bushing ready to go in. Part number coded spiral shocks front installed, rear to be installed. Any hardware that was replaced is replaced with correct hardware from AMK, no odd ball hardware store parts.
The seats have been recovered, new foams in front, new package tray, dash pad, headliner, sail panels, sun visors, rear seat, rear side panels all installed. The deluxe door panels are original panels for the front, the rears have been rebuilt.New carpet, new asphalt underlayment included. Included is a full bulb kit for the dash and consol. Dash, consol, heater controls, kick panels, are not installed, nor is the carpet. So you can still inspect the floor.
All original date coded deluxe seat belts are included, rear is in, fronts are not. 2 of the fronts have new top plates due to oxidation.
The drive shaft is out of the car, but has new Spicer u-joints installed.
What still needs to be done:
Install brake lines and e brake cables. Repo lines, and original hardware included.
Replace fuel delivery and return lines. Repo lines and original hardware included.
Install carpet front and rear, install kick panels, door panels, install shifter and consol, install dash and dash harness (new harness included) replace heater controls, new cables included, install parking brake bracket. Install pedal assemblies both gas, and brake.
Install rear shocks, replace passenger side leaf spring hardware with correct hardware included.
Bolt down trans cross member and mount, original hardware included.
Replace engine mount to engine hardware, correct hardware included, and install the recall cable.
Install rad hoses, heater hoses, and clamps, all included.
New rad support mounts are installed, but not the 4 body mounts, they are included.
Almost forgot, install Gardner chambered exhaust system with all correct hardware from Gardner.
Based on the hard lines and exhaust still being in the box (large boxes) I would not be able to put them in the car for a carrier pick up, but can get shipped ups for additional charge whatever ups charges.
All hardware, correct at that, is included for the install of above.
The only real concern is when the body was prepped, after I told the paint not to get any overspray under the hood, they did not mask the under carriage. So after everything underneath was replaced and kept original finish, it got epoxy primer overspray on it.
I may have missed something as there is A LOT to this car.
I have set the auction at 12 days, straddling 2 weekends so if you want to come and see on the weekend you may set an appoint and do so. The pictures included are the pictures that are available. If you want to check the dates and part numbers, you are welcome to come and do so on the weekend. The car will be on the ground, as I do not have a lift.
My cell is 609-206-5360 between 6-9 pm est, leave message if no answer, no texts, do not ask reserve. As far as a buy it now, give me an offer in person with cash in hand I cannot refuse. I do not negotiate over the phone or site unseen. Please don’t waste your time, or mine. No international sale. CASH ONLY.
Health concern forces sale, no not the super bad one, just cannot do the work underneath, or heavy lifting anymore without weeks of pains. I would like somebody to finish, and truly enjoy this very special car.
