Chevrolet Camaro 1968 Description
Up for auction is this 1968 Camaro project from the Sunny state of Texas! This car came from the factory with ermine white paint and a blue interior. Is a factory 327 cubic inch 2 speed powerglide car with center console that is still in the car. Has drum breaks and a 10 bolt rear end. I have no idea what the ratio is. I was told the motor currently in the car is a 350 but I'm not sure. The previous owner said he had it rebuilt and was running great until someone left the hood up and air cleaner off and it rained. I have not tried to start it, Safe to assume it will need to be rebuilt. All of the gauges and dash are in place as well. Was a factory a/c car.All of the glass is included w the exception of the front windshield and drivers side door glass. The front seats and the the bottom cushion for the back seat are also included.
Will need new floor pans on both sides and the trunk has a few small holes. The rear qtrs have been done as well as the the rear panel. It was done prior to me getting the car. Whoever did them did a decent job. Not the best but will work. The lower rockers are solid and not rusted at all. The frame rails and shock towers are also solid. The upper dash where the windshield sits has some rust as well. The roof is decent and could be worked. Look closely at the pic of the rear window area and you can see what I'm talking about. The passenger door is solid and not rusted out and the drivers door has a small bubble toward the bottom corner but otherwise good. The front fenders are what I believe to be NOS and in mint shape. I could be wrong about this but I feel good about them being NOS. The buyer will also receive the originals that came with the car. They are rusty but could be repaired.
Overall it's a good start for a restomod or total restoration. This car has spent the majority of its life in dry, hot central Texas and while it has some rust the important stuff is solid. The previous owner bought this car in 81 from a serviceman in the Air Force in San Antonio and kept it until he sold it to me 4 months ago. Please contact me with any questions prior to bidding. I reserve the right to end this auction early as it's for sell locally. A $500 non refundable deposit is expected with in 24 hours of the close of the auction. The remainder is due in 72 hours. The vehicle will NOT be released until I have received cash or PayPal payment and it has cleared. Any bidders with zero or less than 5 transactions will need to contact me prior to bidding or the bid will be cancelled. Bid to own!! Good luck!Buyer is responsible for shipping. I can help load and also possibly help with finding a carrier, as I am in the transport business.
