Chevrolet C-10 1971 Description
This truck is indeed a rare 4 speed manual truck from the factory. Longbed Fleetside C10. It came with a short block Chevy 350 motor that I pulled out and replaced with a freshened big block 454. I still have the original motor that will be included in the sale of the truck. The original motor runs just fine but I wanted smooth grumbly big block power and that is what is in the truck now. 1971 was a very sought after year for this truck because it was the first year C10 that came from the factory with front disc brakes.I'm sure I will forget to list many things that have been done to the truck so please ask questions. I will answer honestly and truthfully. INTERIOR:-New door and window seals throughout.-New front and rear glass seals and trim.-I gutted the interior and installed dynamat throughout the cab (see pics).-New dynamatt sound deadening + new carpet/upholstery kit.-New factory seat upholstery.-New door panels and stainless steel hardware.-New window cranks (with new eschutcheon bezels)-New inner door handles-New pedal pads-New door sill plates with Chevy "Bowtie" emblems + stainless hardware-New defroster outlets left and right side-New door panel/vents/seals-New Dashpad-New CJ Grant Steering wheel and chrome hub.-New Chrome Dome light and wiring.-New Factory rear view mirror and hardware-New Steering column bearing.-New turn signal switch assembly with secondary grounds throughout the lighting system. Taillights blinkers all indicator lights are twice as bright as factory.-New back up lens' and gaskets-New 3 point retractable seat belts. Truck didn't have belts installed when I purchased it yikes!-New "Dual Voice Coil" dash speaker with JVC Bluetooth/iPod/USB media player installed in Glovebox that is easily removed if the next owner would like to keep it factory. I am trying to source an original Delco period correct radio to install before the sale happens if nothing else to complete the dash to factory specs.-I've installed aftermarket temp and oil pressure gauges because its just a good idea.EXTERIOR:This truck is literally rust-free. Its very rare to find one of these iconic 67-72 C-10's without a spot of rust anywhere.-GM Factory two-tone "Hugger Orange and GM White"-Fresh proper "windows out" paint job.-New tailgate and linkage-New tailgate chrome handle-New side moulding trim-New back of cab trim-15" Factory Chevy Steel smoothies + factory hub caps (still the best looking wheels on those trucks in my opinion). Painted black.-Brand new Kelly Safari ATR tires (235-75-15) in the front with matching back tires w/ plenty of life and newer date codes.-Pickup bed is freshly rhino coated.-New headlights-New side indicator marker lights-New filler neck grommet-New rear bumper-New rear bumper deflectors bumper brace kits (right and left) license panel filler chrome grommets and hardware. The rear bumper and hardware alone were close to $500 to give you an idea of what this stuff costs.UNDER THE HOOD:-Chevy 454 Big Block motor with less than a few thousand miles on it-4 speed manual gear box with granny 1st. Shifts great and as it should.-Brand new "side pole" Batteries Plus battery. Under warranty for another 2 years.-New Edelbrock 14" air filter-New ignition switch-New radiator-New thermostat-New serp belt-Newer generation GM Alternator-New Hooker Headers-Factory disc brakes up front drums in the rear.-New Custom exhaust with turndowns (see pics). Sound amazing without being too loud. It's a joy to drive this truck down the highway w/o needing ear plugs!-Brand new Dual radiator fans to keep that big block cool. Wired to ignition power.-2" coil lowering springs to level the truck. I looks perfect in my opinion or could be lower on bags??-New speedo gear ring so that speedometer reading is accurate.-New speedo cable-The list goes on and on.......** I do have the back of cab chrome trim that I still haven't installed. I'll post up some pics in the next day or two of that chrome trim. This truck looks incredible and drives like it did brand new. No strange vibrations rattles or noises. Drives straight down the road nice and tight with more than ample power. I can truly say that it needs nothing to be a daily driver. It starts every day without a problem since I've replaced the original sloppy ignition switch. I've always filled it with premium 91/93 octane fuel. This truck just completed a 1200 mile road trip down through New Mexico Four Corners Flagstaff Route 66 North to Las Vegas and then home on I-15 and I-70. This C10 is comfortable as a daily driver around town and just as comfortable at highway speeds. Literally everything on the truck works as it did from the factory or better.I've had my fun with the truck just bringing it back to life. Its been a very gratifying build but I must sell as finances have become an issue with my growing family (baby due in a few weeks.) At this point I'm trying to break even and recoup my money that doesn't factor in my time spent on the build. The paint job is brand new with quality primer paint and clear coat. Materials alone were several thousand dollars this truck has close to $10k in paint and body work to make it what it is today. I didn't skimp any step of the way its high quality paint and there is a difference! I couldn't get myself to do a cheap Maaco paint job on this beauty.Odometer reading is 84xxx miles and climbing. I believe this to be the correct mileage based on previous owner's information. I'm an honest seller and will answer any questions to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for looking.
