Chevrolet Camaro 1970 Description

1970 1/2 Z-28

So you've been looking at Gen II Camaro's and you've decided to finally buy one, ut what do you get? A Resto-mod or a Chalk mark restoration? Decisions are always tough, ut this particular car will make it easy for you. This Z-28 is a two owner car with less then 20,000 miles, hat shows like a freshly restored car. Combine that with the custom made 18 inch wheels, nd you have a car that can be shown on Sunday and then driven on Monday.

So if your looking at this auction, then you probably already know all about the 1970 1/2 Camaro. So named by the public for its late introduction in the model year. This particular car is the highly desirable 360 HP LT-1 model, ith the Muncie Rock Crusher 4 speed and the most coveted Hugger Orange paint.

This Camaro was originally purchased by a car dealer here in Boise Idaho and kept in his personal collection. It was babied and pampered as though it was destined for a museum. We purchased the car over ten years ago upon his death, nd since that time have only put a few thousand miles on the car. It has always been stored indoors in a climate controlled showroom, nd only driven on the best of days. When you look at the photos of this car, ou need to bear in mind that this virtually all original and has never been restored. This is NOT a repain, ut the Original finish for this car. Rather then bore you with a bunch of statistics that you can find on the many Camaro websites, ’ll just tell you its current condition.

BODY:

This Camaro is in impeccable no hit condition. It has been garage kept in climate controlled surroundings its entire life. The paint shines as though it is new. There are no known major blemishes, nd it has but a few almost unnoticeable rock marks on its lower valances.

All chrome and bright work appear as new and have no marks or pits. Front and rear factory spoilers are in place as well as all the original Z-28 badging. This Z-28 was originally a stripe delete Hugger Orange car, nd the stripes were added by the previous owner prior to our purchase. They show very well, ven though they are not factory correct in style. ( on the hood they follow hood lines and have one sharp corner on the inside that should be rounded). If you look at the Data plate photo you will see it only says Z-28 on the tag, o 10 or 19 for stripe color which denotes this was originally a stripe delete vehicle. The trunk appears as new with all the jacking components and the spare tire in place. There is some damage to the trunk rubber moulding.

INTERIOR:

The interior of the vehicle also shows virtually new, ith just the slightest wear, ypically on the black plastic dash pieces. The seat cloth was re-done, ue to some fading of materials over the years, ut was done in factory cloth. The dash and door panels are in perfect condition as well as the carpet. All glass is in great shape with no pitting or scratching at all. All the interior panels, eadliner and rubbers are in like new condition. Like all LT-1 Camaro's, his one has heat only, ut does have the rarer rear window defroster option which functions well. It still has its factory radio which functions well. This car also has tilt column. As stated earlier, he interior as well as the exterior are in time capsule like shape.

ENGINE:

Now we get the point where this car really shines. Yes !! it is an original matching number LT-1 motor !!! If you looking at this car you know what that means; 360 Horsepower, 11-1 compression ratio, igh lift cam, olley carb, nd of course that engine dress up package. The only twist from factory, s that this car was retro-fitted with factory power steering using all of the proper factory components. No after market custom pieces. She has less the 20,000 miles and runs perfectly.

DRIVETRAIN:

This Camaro has its original Muncie transmission, long with 12 bolt rear end. It has Factory dual exhaust with a muffler upgrade. The car will come with its original Z-28 styled wheels, long with a set of custom made 18 inch American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels and Eagle F1 tires. These wheels are one offs, o be able to fit the largest size tire under this car with modifying a single thing. The fronts are 235/45/18 and the rears are 265/45/18. This car looks absolutely stunning on its custom wheels. Included in the purchase are the original factory styled steel wheels which look new, long with five (5) brand new Good-year Poly-Glas F60 15 tires that have not been driven on. Even the spare is brand new in the trunk. All the brakes and suspension are original to the car and are in beautiful condition. The underside of this car looks every bit as nice as the top and has never even been detailed.

Once again I would like to state that this car has been impeccably maintained by only two owners. This car really needs a new caretaker who understands its value as both an investment and page in history. We only drive this car on rare occasions, ut if you are interested and want to arrange a pre-purchase inspection, t can be driven.

I wont bore you with the typical E-bay rhetoric. If you purchase we expect an immediate deposit which is non-refundable. $1000.00 by Pay pal. Final purchase balance can be arranged by bank transfer. We can store the vehicle for up to one (1) month free of charge in its current location to help you facilitate shipping. We can pick you or your inspector up at the Boise Airport if needed.
