Chevrolet Chevelle 1968 Description
-Title in hand!- No rust or bubbling car is clean as can be!-Same owner for last 12 years. Passed down from father to son
-Front disc brake conversion car stopssmoothly and quickly for such a heavy car.
-454 Big Block, 030 over (professionally built / very powerful) Car produces over 500hp and will make you smile every time you press the pedal. (Approx. 440whp and 490 torque) Engine has approximately 5,000 miles since rebuild.
-Runs on pump gas and always use 93 octane shell v power or valero. I'm always paranoid of gas stations and use busy gas stations where I know the gas is alway resupplied on a regular basis.
-Five speedmanual (Richmond 5 Speed)
-12 bolt posi rear with 3:08 Strange gears and axles (no grinding or weird sounds cancruise on highway no issue I have taken the car on 3hr drive without a single issue other than having to fill up every hour.
- Custom front and rear sway bars to improve handling- Suspension is rather firm but not punishing and willdefinitely handles better than you would expect a 50+ year plus car would. But wheels and rims fit properly and don't jutout or seem misfitted like some cars.
-Heavy duty drive shaft. (custom made for this car)
-New gas tank, straps and sensors.-Original gauges work.-Five coats of white base with pearl ghost SS stripes, five coats clear (Paint has small chip on side of door size of a dimeother than that clean as can be.
-Original glass, bumpers, and trim.
-Rims are powder coated white and give the car a nice finish.
A few notesinstalled a large oversized radiator and stronger electric fan car runs smoothly and cooly even on the hottest of summer days. I also installed brand new premium car battery.
Car was estimated to be worth 25k!!!
Car is washed monthly and waxed about every 3 months and is alwaysgaraged
The dash has a small crack which is easily fixable but never had the time to fix it properly. It would take less than a day to fix or have fixed.
Reasons selling. I honestly don't want to sell this car it wasoriginally a buy fix and flip car but since restoration, I've come to love driving it to church and the occasionalcar meet. Though, earlier this month myfiancé was involved in a hit and run and selling would greatly help with medical expenses. I love this car but family comes first and a car is just a car. That being said I won't just give the car away but I am motivated to sell hence the starting bid and no reserve. My phone number will be in the VIN. I will not travel and cannot due to 2 dogs and now bedriddenfiancé and working overtime. I can help get a estimate on shipping if needed but will not help pay for shipping.
A little about the car.Car was owned by a friend of the family. It is originally from Maryland and made there, and basically lived its whole life there. From there it sat for sometime in someones garage. One of those I'll eventually restore it stories. Friend acquired it and basically rebuilt from the ground up. Frame was taken off and resprayed. The frame was not cut up or hacked job. It wasveryclean car to start with. The shell was relatively clean. Unfortunatelythe quarter panels were to rusted to restore so they were cut and replaced. Bumpers and glass were still in great condition so they were notreplated or replaced so they do show some age but give the cara lot of character. Then it was sanded and repainted white with 5 layers and given pearl ghost stripes. The engine was weak and barely functioning so from there it was replaced with a 454 that was sent out and rebuilt by a reputable shop. From there it was properly mounted and installed and from there weslowly fitted everything in that was needed. What we couldn't do we sent out to professionally shop electrical and driveshaft. From there the goal was to make a nice weekend driver with functioning headlight andtaillightsturn signals etc. The car does not have power steering and the we decided to remove the ac to clean up the engine bay. From there my father took a liking to the car and traded some things around and we ended up eventually owning it from our friend. I'm sure I'm forgetting things and don't recall the exact specs on the engine. If you have any questions don't hesitate to message. I try my best to work at home to helpfiancé so that allows me to message relatively quickly. If you would like to make an offer please message me and we can go from there and have the okay/wife/funds ready.Car is listed locally too and I reserve right to sell whenever!
