Chevrolet Other Pickups 1946 Description
Let me start off by saying, I don’t want to sell but I am purchasing a new home and need cash for down payment. Otherwise it would not be for sale. Here we have a 1946 Chevy Coe hauler project. It has a 2002 Chevy Express Van chassis. The chassis retains it original 4L80E transmission. The engine is a 1973 454 big block. Both were removed from running vehicles, not sure of the mileage. New tilt paintable steering column has been installed a and linkage to gear box has been competed. Truck steers lock to lock easily. The original hydro boost from the 2002 van chassis has been mounted under floor and has been plumbed. It only needs to have a rod made to attach the pedal assembly to the rear of hydro boost.
The cab has been mounted to chassis using Chevelle body bushings to provide a much better ride from the original design. Cab is very solid. Only showing surface rust, once sand blasted this cab will look amazing. The battery tray is mounted under the passenger floor pan. Chassis has roughly 9-½’ front center of rear wheels to back of cab.
I have several new parts that are included that have not been installed:
New 40 gal gas tankNew sender for fuel tankNew complete wiring harness kitNew 4L80E TCI controller kitNew 4L80E TPS adapterNew headlamp stainless trim rings
I have made it a point to utilize as many mechanical parts as possible to make servicing it in the future much easier. I also have many of the original parts I removed from cab when removing it from original frame. Truck has a clear SC title!
This a project and there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. This is not a running driving vehicle. You will need to have towed or trailered. Someone will be getting a very cool project.
