Chevrolet Camaro 1968 Description
Brutally fast, his 1968 Camaro rocks a stroked small block, trick air suspension, ots of chrome, nd a gorgeous paint job that will never go out of fashion. Cars like these attract all the attention at Friday night cruise nights and are a blast to drive in today's world. Isn't it time you got in on the fun?You can't argue with this Camaro's stance, r the highly effective bright blue finish that is the perfect antidote to all the Hugger Orange Camaros running around. Panel gaps are excellent and the paint is super slick, o you'll be proud to show it. And boy does the white hockey stick striping really pop against the blue. The clean look of the early Camaros is popular for a very good reason: it simply looks awesome. A cowl induction hood was installed before the respray, nd out back a factory-style ducktail spoiler gives it a proper high-performance look that accentuates the lowered stance. All the badges and emblems were shaved during during the restoration, ut this car has moved beyond factory stock and into the realm of resto-mod/pro-touring, o it's hardly a demerit and everyone knows what this is anyway. The bumpers were left in chrome, rilliantly restored, f course, nd cool little mirrors were added that really accentuate the '60s look, ut give it a slight custom twist. The black interior looks pretty stock at first glance, sing standard vinyl upholstery and door panels. The buckets are maybe a little more plush than the originals, ut there's no denying the siren song of the interior luring you to give this one a go. It shows only minor signs of use since the build, ith fresh carpets and a new center console with the horseshoe shifter, his is a pleasure to sit in. The original gauges were swapped in favor of a full set of Auto Meter Phantom dials, nd the dash itself is painted silver to contrast with the blue bodywork. There's a custom cloth-covered dash pad and a nice walnut steering wheel for originality. You'll note that there's no radio in the dash, ust a neat little holster for a remote control, hich manages an AM/FM/iPod stereo head unit cleverly hidden under the passenger's seat, nd fed by a set of heavy-duty amplifiers built into the trunk floor. Custom side panels in the trunk also conceal the battery and Air Ride setup. This is also a fold down rear seat car, are, nd that hides two Volsenhag subwoofers. For performance, t's hard to beat a small block stroker motor in a lightweight F-body. The strong-running 406 cubic inch V8 under the hood was built for speed, nd like the rest of the car, akes no prisoners. There's a big 4-barrel carburetor atop an aluminum intake, nd a set of aluminum heads under polished aluminum valve covers, ll helping to make this car a legitimate threat at the stop light grand prix. The silver engine compartment and engine have a high-tech look, ut it was obviously built to drive with a big aluminum radiator up front and an MSD ignition system. Long-tube headers feed cut-outs and a complete exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, o the sound goes from wicked to downright insane. The chassis is fortified with subframe connectors and the aforementioned Air Ride system, ith a freshly rebuilt TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt out back to deliver the torque, nd four wheel discs provide ample stopping power. Wheels are from Chip Foose, earing staggered 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear performance radials for a perfect stance. With throttle response that can rival a fuel-injected car, hat gorgeous paint, nd an awesome stance, his is a no-compromises Camaro that's not afraid to call itself a bit of a resto-mod. You could be enjoying it on he Hot Rod Power Tour very soon. Call today!
