This is an extremely hard to find 1968 Factory K10 Suburban. They only made around 5k 1967/68 4x4 Suburbans and most have been ran into the ground. You rarely see a slant nose 4x4 Suburban in survivor condition like this one. I believe this is one of the only factory 67/68 4x4 Suburbans for sale in the country right now. This Suburban is as close to 100% original and unmolested condition you will find. It still retains the tower clamps and canister oil filter! I have the original build sheet, protecto plate, owners manual, and SPID in good condition. When is the last time you saw a 67-72 4x4 with SPID, protecto Plate, and Build Sheet? Sold new in Washington about an hour away from where it currently resides. I have had the Suburban about 2 years. I have done quite a bit of work to it to get it to its current stage. The suburban did not run and had some minor rust issues when I purchased it. It still had the original plugs and wires! Below is a small list of what I have done to the Suburban
-Just picked it up from the glass shop. A new windshield with precision gasket and rear hatch glass with precision gasket were installed.
-Rockers were replaced due to minor pin holes but, if you know these 67-72 trucks there is no such thing as a rust free one. I had the rockers professionally replaced along with the lower kick panel area. Those areas were cleaned out of all the built up debree and sprayed with POR 15 before having the new panels welded into place. The gentleman I used has done 2 other trucks for me in the past few years and he does it just like the factory. Spot welds drilled out and the full panel spot welded back in and a small bead of seam sealer. I'm very happy with his work which is hard to say nowadays with body men. I then had those areas fogged in to match the majority of the original paint. Now the Suburban is extremely solid. Bottom of the doors, rockers, kick panels, cab supports, windshield area, roof, inner fenders are all rust free. Rear tailgate is solid with just surface rust but, no pin holes. Same with the spare tire carrier. The only rust left that I know of is a dime size hole in the right hand side of the rear inner hatch.
-The roof rain gutter seam sealer was brittle and cracked so, I had that scraped out and resealed and the entire roof sprayed in white.
-New plugs, wires, original carburetor rebuilt, new distributor, coil, master cylinder, booster, wheel cylinders, brake hoses.
-Complete new M&H dash wiring harness and fuse box
I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting. This Suburban now runs and drives but, keep in mind it has never been restored. I prefer the survivor quality this one has as I've never seen another like it. The original rubber floor mat has been cleaned and I preserved it best I could. The original seats had covers on them for many years and have somewhat survived with just being dirty and some of the seams coming loose. Maybe someone can restitch the seams and clean them better? This Suburban is definitely not a show vehicle but, you can take it to that level with a solid foundation or put around town in it as is. The front drive shaft is currently out and I have new U Joints for it but, have not had time to install them. The wiper motor needs to be replaced or rebuilt and the brake pedal is still a bit mushy after having all the brake components replaced. Recommend additional bleeding. This is not a daily driver but, someone could get it there in a weekend or two. Just needs another enthusiast that can take it over from here. I currently work 28 days on/28 days off overseas so, lack of time are my reasons for letting this one go.
If you have tried to sell a vehicle in the past year you know how frustrating it can be. Please do not make an offer or call me without consulting your wife or significant other. I'm not looking for a new friend or pen pal. Just looking for a pleasant transaction for both myself and the buyer. I've sold a few of my personal cars&trucks on ebay in the past 13 years and have always had positive transactions. I will assist in shipping any way I can but, it is the responsibility of the buyer to set that up. All paper work and title will be sent via Fedex or given in person to the buyer upon completion of payment.
