Chevy's first generation Camaro might just be one of the coolest cars ever created. Extremely fun to drive with plenty of power and striking good looks these classics enjoy a cult-like following and provide one of the best ownership experiences on the planet. That unique combination of approachability and appeal has significantly contributed to the brand's continued rise in popularity. And restorations like this sinister pro-tourer with its GM Performance Parts big block Tremec 5-speed and Detroit Speed suspension are always hot sellers. Are you one of the many enthusiasts tirelessly searching for a captivating pony car? Don't miss your chance to claim this killer Camaro coupe!

BODYWORK/TRIM

The beneficiary of a high quality rotisserie restoration this nouveau Rally Sport has been stripped to bare metal fitted with new quarters and sprayed in slick Tuxedo Black 2-stage. And despite its custom mechanicals the car's trim and ornamentation is a stylish mix of familiar Chevrolet attributes. Up front a shaved Rally Sport grille hangs clean Detroit Speed headlights above a body-matched bumper and clear Rally Sport parking lamps. Behind that grille a shaved header panel leads the eye to a traditional ZL-2 hood and like-new glass that's framed in Detroit Speed wipers and color-keyed stainless. At the sides of the car factory doors found painted handles and F2 Camaro mirrors between shaved fenders and sculpted quarters that are carved with factory gills. And at the back of those quarters a shaved valance hangs flush-fit LED taillights between a D80 spoiler a second body-matched bumper and satin-finish exhaust outlets.

ENGINE

Toss this panther's glossy hood and you'll find 427 cubic inches of GM Performance Parts big block that's housed in a carefully matched and professionally detailed engine compartment. Number 121 of 427 all-aluminum ZL1 crate engines built from original castings to commemorate one of Chevy's most exclusive motors this killer mill is fitted with an impressive roster of hardware. At the top of the $20K engine a polished and decaled air cleaner drops wind in to an 870cfm Holley which is piped to a coated fuel pump via fresh stainless lines. Under that carb an aluminum bowtie-branded intake rides between aluminum bowtie-branded heads and aluminum serialized valve covers. Those heads feed a cast aluminum block which spins a forged rotating assembly under a streetable hydraulic roller cam. At the back of that block a familiar HEI distributor sparks a web of proven GM Performance Parts plug wires. Beneath those wires coated block hugger headers funnel spent gases in to aluminized true-dual pipes. At the front of those headers a modern serpentine system spins a polished alternator a polished AC compressor and modern power steering at the edges of a tough Edelbrock water pump. And in front of that pump an Arctic Chill radiator cycles coolant around two large puller fans. Virtually every facet of this Camaro's fresh engine bay has been taken from a 10 to an 11. Details like billet hood hinges a firewall fill plate a core support close-out and polished Chevrolet caps are well planned and well executed. And at the end of the day it all adds up to stout 10 to 1 compression an impressive 430 horsepower and a whopping 444 lb./ft. of torque.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

That rare big block spins power through a Tremec TKO600 5-speed to a proven Ford 9-inch that's fitted with buff 3.50 gears. Opposite that mini-tubbed rear end a powder-coated Detroit Speed subframe wraps power rack-and-pinion steering in tuned coil-overs tubular control arms a splined sway bar and C6 steering knuckles and bearing packs. Stops are provided by power-assisted Wilwood calipers which squeeze four drilled and slotted rotors. The aforementioned headers and pipes make good use of welded dual-chamber mufflers. At the corners of the car polished Budnik wheels spin 275/35ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As up front and 335/30ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As out back. And everything from this Chevy's textured floors to its Detroit Speed subframe connectors appears to be in excellent operating condition.

INTERIOR

Swing the car's lightweight doors and you'll find a stylish leather interior that wraps modern bucket seats in a nice blend of style and sophistication. In front of those seats a factory dash anchors an aftermarket instrument panel behind bright Auto Meter gauges and Vintage Air climate control. Tight carpet centers a custom full-length console between a Hurst shifter small power window switches and Dynamat sound deadening. Opposite that carpet a custom headliner hangs a small dome lamp in front of a sculpted package tray. In front of the driver a familiar Rally wheel laps a tilting column and silver-trimmed billet foot pedals. At the sides of the passengers custom door panels found polished handles in front of long armrests and expressive trim. And behind the cockpit a fully finished trunk features enough storage space for a weekend's haul of trophies.
