Chevrolet Corvette 1963 Description

You are viewing a once in a lifetime opportunity. I am selling a 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe. I purchased the car in 2013 with the idea of driving it and ultimately doing a full restoration someday down the road. Unfortunately, I recently had major reconstructive surgery on my left ankle and can no longer drive the clutch. I am absolutely heartbroken and am still reconsidering not selling the car as I know how RARE and valuable it is and what a great long term investment it is and will be. I recently purchased a brand new Corvette Convertible automatic to ease my pain, but now am looking to free up some garage space.First off, I am not a dealer or affiliated with any dealership. I am a private individual who loves Corvettes and just happened to stumble upon the 63. I purchased it not really knowing too much about the numbers correct stuff - I just loved the car. The seller owned the car for over 30 plus years and told me the car was virtually unmolested with the exception of a paint color change sometime in the 1980's. Upon purchasing it, I had a professional Corvette shop go through it to find out it was all numbers correct on the engine and transmission, however it had a different newer rear in it. The also checked the body and bonding strips and could not find any remnants of any body damage. They believe it was never hit. They checked the frame and suspension and felt the car was in remarkable condition for its age. The block casting numbers are 3782870 and the pad is stamped with the partial VIN as shown in the pic.The car has the highly sought after 4 speed 340 horsepower drivetrain. It runs and drives amazing for its age. It seems to have a bit of an aggressive cam as it has a nice lope. I spent around $2000 plus on getting it running and driving great last year after sitting for a about a 2 years as I initially did not have it registered. The car is fully registered and titled in my name. The mileage is 74019 and is showing actual mileage on the title and the previous owner stated he put very few miles on it during his 30 plus year of ownership. I have been told the car was originally riverside red with a black interior. I was told it was painted sometime in the 1980's. There are some minor cracks and chips around the paint, but it still shows beautifully for its age. It is almost too nice to repaint - so I just left it alone. Mechanically, I had the fuel pump rebuilt, a new water pump installed, new GM reproduction hoses and belt replaced, all wheel bearings and brakes checked and some parts replaced, new battery, oil and filter change, carburetor rebuild and calibration and new points and plugs and wires. I also had the fluids flushed and changed. The car does not run hot even in standing traffic. All lights work and wipers - the turn signal sticks sometimes and should likely be addressed down the road. All gauges work including the clock - I have not checked the time, but it does run. Someone changed the radio to a cassette deck long ago - I have the original radio from the car that will come with the car. I was told the wheels were a high quality aftermarket and I have a spare 5th wheel and tire that matches the car and will be included in the sale. I have a bunch of parts to include in the sale including parts that came off the car over the years when something was replaced. I just started and moved the car today for the first time this season and there is a little oil under the car - likely from sitting, but I want to be open and honest to what I know and can tell about the car. The oil spot is about the size of a softball after 8 months in the garage. The headlight mechanisms work very well with no issue. The brightwork is in very good original condition - no where near show chrome, but very respectable for a driver quality car. The interior is in nice condition. It appears the gear shifter was changed to a hurst shifter at some point and the side chrome seat brackets were painted black at some point. Cosmetically, there are some scratches to the two rear windows - that likely can be buffed out, however, I have a set of used 63 glasses that I am going to include in the sale. The stainless mouldings around the glasses are dented and beat up, they can be sent to to be straightened and polished as the aftermarkets likely will not fit like the originals. The car has manual steering and manual brakes and the handbrake still works. The car passed full Delaware inspection in 2016 and again is in very good mechanical condition.I have a clear title with no liens in hand in my name. Overall the car is a very solid driver. It has been stored most of its life and it looks it. It is in excellent condition overall. It runs very well mechanically. However, the car is over 54 years old, so anything can break or fail, so I am selling the car AS-IS with NO warranty issued or implied. I HIGHLY recommend any interested party to come INSPECT IN PERSON the car PRIOR to purchase or bidding. Please do not WASTE your time or mine for joyrides or pictures. I am looking for SERIOUS buyers only.I have 4 VERY solid offers on the car locally, so I know what the car is worth. NO - $50k will not buy it as I have offers MUCH higher. Again, it is a VERY straight car that runs and drives very well. I am very serious about selling the car, so please be very serious about buying it. I have set the reserve at $1500 more than the highest offer I have locally - and it is very reasonable for the car.My number is 732-407-7047, so please call me with serious questions.Payment must be made via CERTIFIED BANK CHECK WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION END. The car will be released upon check fully clearing in my bank. NO EXCEPTIONS. Again - this is not a 100 point showcar. It is a true driver and shows nicely from 20 feet away. Thanks for looking!

Thank you for all of the inquiries and calls. THE RESERVE HAS BEEN MET AND THE CAR WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER! I have had a lot of requests for the date code on the engine. I will check it and post it tomorrow evening. Also the pic of the back of the car is NOT cracked, it is the reflection of the antenna. Happy Bidding!

Thank you for all of your questions - I just checked the date code on the engine - it was a bear as it is behind the distributor and shielding, but I managed to get a few pics. The date code is showing C 12 3. I had two potential buyers inform me that the car was built around April 1/2, 1963 and the date code is March 12, 1963, which is approximately 2.5 to 3 weeks before the date of the build. Please email me and I can send you a pic of the date code on the block. I have maxed out all of my pictures and cannot add anymore - but can respond to ebay emails with a pic. Thanks
