Chevrolet Other 1954 Description
Click on pictures to super size. Up for auction is a 1954 Chevrolet Bel-Air. This is a true street rod that looks original on the outside. It was painted Copper & Cream, rame was painted brown and body undercoated. The brake system was upgraded to a Hydra tech system which is power assist. The peddle is still through the floor. Brakes are front disk, nbsp;rear aluminum IRAC drums.The front end was replaced with a Mustang II kit with power Rack. Steering was replaced with late model column with tilt and a Lecara wheel. The firewall was smoothed and radiator moved forwardand replaced with an aluminum one to make room for a Big Block Chevy engine. An electric fan was installed. New Stainless fuel tank.Dash was modified forVintage Air.
The engine is a 1970 402 Bored out .30 that makes it 408.5. The pistons and rods were balanced within 1/2 gram. Compression is 9.5 to 1. A Comp Cam street roller kit was installed. Part # 11-430-8 CB 280H-10Valve lift .595 Duration at .50 224 lobe lift .3500 lobe sep 110. The heads are oval port and were ported and polished. Bronze guidesinstalled. Stainless steel valves installed. 2.19 intake 1.88 Ex. Springs and retainers came with comp cam kit.
The rear end is a 1978 Camaro with limited slip Detroit Truetrac unit with 3.08 gears. Trans is a 700R4 upgraded for 500hp. An aluminum drive shaft was installed. It has electric windshield wipers with intermittentsetting. There is a relay panel under hood for electric fan and air condition. Electric wire was replaced and a painless fuse center installed. The wheels are chrome smoothie's with different center caps and spinners mounted on them. the gauges were changed to white ones to see better. I also painted the original speedometer white and had a new glass with blacknumbers made. This car was built to drive.It has been on the Power Tour and to Cruising the Coast several times. I have owned this car a long time and would not be afraid to drive it anywhere.It is not a trailer queen.It has won at every show I've entered it in. I am selling because I want to do another car. I have had this car 38 years and rebuilt it 3 times.I think its time for a new project. I will consider trades depending on what it is.
