Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1957 Description
Up for auction is our beautiful 57 Sedan Delivery. This delivery has undergone a full frame off restoration to a high standard. In 1957 only 7,273 Sedan Deliveries were built, which is about .5% of the total Chevrolet Car production in 1957. These were used as utility vehicles and few survive today. This is a fine example of a very rare 57.
The body was off the frame and the frame was sand blasted and painted a medium gloss black. All the suspension was disassembled, blasted and painted, then reassembled with all new bushings and ball joint,s etc. The brakes and lines were completely rebuilt and replaced with new parts.
Mechanically, it is basically a new car. The engine is a 350 GM crate engine, code 8VP which I think is a 300hp. It has a new AFB 4bbl carburetor, new chrome water pump, new HEI distributor, new chrome alternator, Billet Specialties “Chevrolet†script valve covers and polished aluminum air cleaner. It also has a new aluminum radiator to keep it cool on hot days. Under the hood is simple and very eye catching to say the least. The transmission is a rebuilt TH350, built for drivability. New drive line and rebuilt differential. The entire drive train is nicely detailed and made to drive and enjoy. New dual exhaust gives is a subtle rumble yet keeping it quiet inside.
The body was professionally prepped and block sanded. Upon painting, the entire car was color sanded and polished to a mirror finish. The lettering on the side reading, “Midtown Chevrolet†is done in high quality silver leaf and is on vinyl. It is made to last a lifetime, but can easily be removed if desired. All of the stainless is refinished to a mirror shine along with all of the chrome plating. The emblems, glass and rubber seals are new.
The interior is also all new and looks great. The original style black/silver vinyl was used on the seats, door panels, rear/side panels and headliner. The dash is finished to show quality and matches the rest of the interior. The real eye catcher is the wood floor in the cargo area. At shows, everyone loves the interior of this car! The odometer reads 355 miles since the restoration was completed. All of the lights, signals and gauges work good. The car is finished off with a set of 18†BOSS mag wheels with brand new tires.
If you are looking for a unique classic that is ready to enjoy, then this is the car for you. It is a real head turner and is a joy to drive. I have been a ebay member since 2000 with 100% feedback.
