Chevrolet C-10 1948 Description
Up for auction is a 1948 Chevy 3100 5 window. A good friend and client of mine bought this truck 2 years ago. They are downsizing and moving out of state and have to unfortunately part with their truck.I am new to Ebay, but have had a successful Auto repair/restore business for 11 years. I will be listing 2 more vehicles next month, so my integrity matters. This being my first... please message me if you have any questions at all about the truck. I will tell you that the owner has put a considerable amount of money in this truck, getting it the way he personally wanted it.The whole goal here was to have a Rat Rod truck... but when you open the hood... show some old school while showing some bling. It gets tons of compliments and head snaps anywhere it goes.Motor, suspension and chassis: When he bought this truck the engine was a little under powered 307ci with vortec heads as well as the exhaust was dual but not compatible. So we pulled it all out and proceeded to upgrade the truck. The motor is now a GM crate 350ci bored .30 over, camshaft was custom ground at Oregon Cam Grinders .484/.484, the heads are 194s with roller rockers, sitting on top is a brand new Redline intake manifold with 4 weber IDF Carbs complimented by electronic ignition upgrade, brand new Flowmaster exhaust to let him breath, 4 core aluminum radiator, high volume oil pump, electric cooling fan. Engine literally only has about 30 miles on it sincecomplete rebuild. When you put your foot in it you know it, behind engine is a Turbo 350 transmission, Lokar shifter and throttle cable. Front end is a Mustang II power steering, Power disc brakes which stop him nicely. Air ride suspension by AirTech looks great up or slammed to the ground, original C notch frame, Rear end is installed nicely 10 bolt chevy posi, with traction bars, brand new heavy duty battery. And to chill you on a hot day there is a brand new Vintage air unit to cool it down.Interior: New Dolphin gauges and a old school steering wheel that is comfortable for anyone. It has a comfortable bench seat.. not sure what its out of.. but has been reupholstered along with the door panels. Nothing fancy here its totally old school except for the a/c. All glass is good and windows roll up and down. The interior has been sound matted also. The wipers do not work, and no radio.. just love to listen to the sound and rumble of that cool new exhaust system:)The truck is running new Ridler 18's on the front and 20's on the rear with Nitto tires. Sets a pretty cool stance. The outside is absolute Rat Rod.. showing vintage pin striping and rust and shop truck lettering. It is all natural except the clear coat. If you are looking for a perfect body.. this isn't it.. this is Rat Rod. It has a rustic wood bed, that was going to be replaced but there wasn't time. It fits the truck perfectly. There is a brand new flush mount old school fuel filler as well as extra hood hinges that come with him to be installed. As well as the weber books and tuning manual and tool. The reserve is set at the original purchase price from two years ago before doing all of the work, new engine, carburation, etc.. so if you are going to do something.... this is a excellent start for you. He runs and drives great probably a little more power then he needed lol, very fun, always stored inside. Car show season is coming. All of the hard work is done.Bid with confidence.. contact me if you have ANY questions at all. This is not a perfect truck.. but its pretty dang cool... Look at pictures carefully.. I am trying to explain everything I can, so if you want to see something in particular, message me.. I will get right back to you with my email address. Thanks everyone as you can tell Spider is a pretty special truck and I have not seen another like it!!! The Truck is listed locally and we reserve the right to end auction early if sold!
