Chevrolet Chevelle 1969 Description

A 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle convertible will always make a great first impression. After all, the factory droptops of this muscle car legend are rare. But when you can have one with great paint, the right features, and a screamming big block under the hood, then you know you're looking at the standout among standouts. The reapplication of the code 69 Cortez Silver means this car looks correct but has an extra sparkle in the sunlight that can only come from a professional respray with modern paint formulas. And it's good that no one changed the color because it seems like the perfect complement to the deep black folding roof. The final coordinating piece is the SS396-specific black side stripes that emphasizes the gentle arch of the '69 Chevelle's profile. This one really gets the Super Sport look right with all the correct understated brightwork. Because of that, we also are happy to see special attention paid to making sure the remaining pieces are true standouts such as the mirror-like bumpers. But as much as this convertible goes for elegance, no one will mistake it for a pushover thanks to the right badging and the correct five-spoke SS wheels. With the flip of a switch, the black electric folding roof reveals a nice black interior so this droptop has a great overall appearance with the top up or down. Everyone loves to see bucket seats and a center console in a muscle machine like this, and it comes complete with the iconic horseshoe shifter. This convertible feels nice inside with the carpets, door panels, and dash all retaining their deep, dark appearance. The driver gets the factory dual-spoke steering wheel that gives a commanding view of everything. Plus, all the vents, gauges, and even the heat/defrost control have that great classic GM look and feel. But there have also been some nice upgrades. There are plenty of modern speakers to hear your music clearly even with the top down (did you see the subwoofers in the custom trunk yet?) And as you look at the large tach in the center and the auxiliary readouts, these upgrades tell you there's something special under the hood. This is the kind of motor that will make you proud to lift the hood at car shows. The big block 454 cubic-inch V8 is exceptionally well presented with its orange block paint, shining valve covers, and cross-flags air grabber. If you look closer, you can spot performance upgrades such as, aluminum heads, a March pulley system, a Holley Street Avenger four-barrel carburetor, Weiand Team G intake, and long tube headers that adds power as they also contribute to the rumble of the performance X-pipe dual exhaust. The total power package reliably gets to the ground via a stout GM three-speed automatic transmission and 12-bolt rear end. Plus, control stays well in hand thanks to power steering, front disc brakes, and Goodyear Wingfoot tires at all four corners.Chevrolet only built 8,950 Chevelle droptops in 1969, making them a very rare commodity nearly a half-century later. So to find one so nicely presented with a growling V8 under the hood is the kind of treat that doesn't come around very often. Don't miss out, call today!
