Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1955 Description
1955 Chevy Bel Air:
History: This 1955 Chevy was purchased by my uncle when I was just a teenager, approx. 1983. It was just a good solid driver then. It was fully restored about 1995. That included all suspension, brakes, engine rebuild, floor shift, complete body restoration, complete interior restoration. I took possession of this car about 2007. It is a joy to drive and turns heads wherever you go. It is good for a cruise night or any car show.
Body: It is a Bel Air 4 door painted in veridian green. All of the chrome is excellent and so is the stainless trim. All of the lights, turn signals, etc work just as they should. The paint and body is very detailed from front to rear. Under the hood is excellent and so is the trunk. The engine compartment is super detailed and has won best six cylinder engine awards. The only flaws in the body are some small bubbles in the paint located in the lower corners of each rear door and the left rear door sill has a spot of rust. I have included very detailed photos.
Interior: The interior is super nice. All of the carpet, seat covers and door panels have been replaced. All of the sheet metal is redone in veridian green. The doorjams are very detailed and all of the rubberseals have beenreplaced. The dash is beautiful and all of the gauges work properly. There are no rattles when going down the road and the doors shut just like they should. The only bad of the interior is some color bleeding on the rear seat cover from a failed rear window seal that has been replaced. Detailed photos are included.
Drive Train: The engine is a Blue Flame 235 six cylinder. Ithas been rebuilt and runs smooth. It burns no oil and doesn't smoke. It has dual carbs feeding an Offenhauser intake. The exhaust flows through a splitFenton header and dual exhaust with Smithys mufflers. Pure old school hot rod! The transmission is a three speed with floor shift and a borg warner overdrive. This is a lot of fun todrive and cruises down the highway really nice.
Suspension: The suspension is basicallystock except for lowering the front with dropped spindles and aftermarket springs. It also has disc brakes on the front and an updated master cylinder. The rear is lowered with blocks and is otherwise stock.
This car has been very fun to ownand the future owner of this car will not be disappointed.
