Chevrolet Chevelle 1969 Description

This auction is for a 1969 Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe. Original 250 Six Cylinder 3 Speed Standard on the Column Car. Car came with Power Steering, ower Front Disc Brakes, inted Glass and Black Vinyl Top. Came in the frost green color with silver argent accent. Was a sharp looking car in its day. The car was taken off the road in 1983 due to body rust issues. I was told the car ran great when parked. Over the years parts were picked off the vehicle until a friend of mine purchased it approx 3 years ago. His intention was to build a rat rod patina type vehicle like many of the west coast cars. He was going to weld on lower rear quarters, epair the front fenders and just fix the few rust spots that were in the trunk and cabin floor pan just to make it solid. He was going to leave the rest of the car just like you see it and clear it. He had a big block 396 to install and change the car over to a 4 speed. Well the car sat for about 6 months after purchase when he had the chance to purchase a vintage Corvette so the Chevelle took a back seat. I took the car in trade about a year and a half ago and have done nothing with it. So we are putting it up for auction. The floor and trunk do have some rust arears as you can see in the pics. They could be patched if your going to build the car like he was or replace them if your going to do it right. There is a rust area by the rear window that needs repair . Also you can see some rust on the pillar post inside the front windshield . The outer body had a lot of surface rust so I just cleaned it off the best I could. Surpriseingly the original paint is showing thru. The front upper nose valance panel is dented but I have a nice one that I will include. Also an original pair of front fenders that need a couple of patch panels that are way better then the ones on the car and are original GM not after markets. Of course he left them outside to surface rust like the car but they can be blasted and cleaned up. The frame on the car is very solid but of course surface rust.I looked it over good and did find 2 small spots the size of a dime that are close to each other on the drivers side rail. Very easy to weld those spots shut and grind them down you wouldn't even notice it. The interior was basically missing but I had a correct back seat and a non original front seat that I installed. Gage cluster and glove box door was missing but I had them . Also have all armrest base, ll rear seat belts, eater controls, oldings that go under trunk lid, assenger side rear tail light lense, sh tray, nd the collar piece and key switch piece with keys for the steering column, do not have the shift lever or the front bumper . As I keep looking there may be a few other misc pieces that Will go with the car. Just for the heck of it I put a battery in the ca, rossed the starter and the motor turns over fine. Pulled the valve cover and it's very clean. You can go all kinds of different ways with this car. Fix it like he intende, ix it original, r good vintage race car material. SELLING AT NO RESERVE .
