Chevrolet C/K Pickup 2500 1962 Description

1962 Chevrolet K-series? LWB Fleetside 4WD Truck

V-8, 4 on the floor, original factory propane and gas dual-fuel set up. 4WD with lockable front hubs, 6 bolt spoke wheels.

Runs and drives well. P.O. was in the process of changing the wiring harness before he died. The brake lights and turn signals still need to be hooked up. A big new stereo and amp is present, but the hookup needs to be completed. Actual mileage is unknown.

This is a Wyoming vehicle, and while very solid does have the usual rust problems in the cab corners and trailing edge of the fenders. Fix it right and paint it, or just enjoy the patina and rat rod nature of the beast! It is a mild custom.

The story which came with it is that about 1000 of these 4x4 dual fuel trucks were made in ’62 and they were supplied to the army and land management agencies. There probably aren’t many originals left. I’ve heard that 4WD became available to the public in 1964. There is one "10" badge, and the VIN would indicate it is a K series truck.

NADA values are impressive, with retail low book around $10K and it goes up from there. Restored one on the web have asking prices of $40+K.

The truck needs a good home. I would recommend trailering it home and refreshing it some before hitting the rod runs and show circuit. It will easily load up. Located near Victor, Idaho 83455
