1948 Chevy 3100 shortbed truck body swapped onto 1997 s10 complete frame and drivetrain. This truck drives and rides like a late model truck, ecause that's virtually what it is. S10 body was removed, dded air bags to all four corners and 1948 body set on. Now you have a truck that rides and drives like a dream and gets everyone's attention anywhere you go. The 4.3 Fuel injected Vortec is a great little motor with plenty of power and still gets about 20 miles per gallon. One of the toughest motors GM has ever made. Matched with a 5 speed manual transmission for a worry free drivetrain. One of the best things about this build is so much of it is stock, ou could take this to your local GM dealer for service. Still has factory OBDII connection for engine diagnostics. All the wiring is in place for cruise control and ABS brakes, ut the modulators are not on it. It's a simple plug and play if someone wanted to add it back on. Most parts on this truck can be purchased at any parts store for fair price, nlike many hot rods that are pieced together. Truck has a lots of new parts I will list at the end of description. Has full airride system with tank and compressor under the bed and switches/gauges hidden in glove box. Setup will lay the running boards on the ground. Unlike other similar trucks, his one has full turn radius with no rubbing. No problem making a u turn in this one even with 20" wheels. New 2" X pipe exhaust and thrush mufflers give it a real throaty sound. This truck is NOT a smooth body glossy paint job afraid to drive and get dirty show truck. It also is NOT a rat rod piece of junk either. It was built to drive but look badass at the same time. No worries getting it dirty or a scratch. Just touch it up with some more hot rod black paint and drive to the car show. On your way home hit the home improvement store for some building material or hit the local cruise in. Really fun to drive, ooks badass. There is plenty of things that could be done if your a tinkerer, r drive it like it is. All new glass, ubber and most of the interior. New sound dampener throughout cab. New carpet pad, arpet, teering wheel, lovebox. Handmade stainless steel shifter with walnut knob. "One of a kind" exotic walnut door panels, ransmission tunnel cover, nd headliner. Stock s10 steering column with new wheel. Self canceling turn signals, azard flashers, igh and low beam headlights. Added turn signal and high beam indicator lights to dash. These trucks are notorious for the doors popping open when going around corners so I added Altman bearclaw latches. Doors close with ease and stay shut. No slamming needed. New stereo with iPhone hookup USB and Pandora internet radio ready. 2 speakers in door and two behind seat. Has a solid body with new cab corners, ick panels and firewall. one rust hole in passenger side running board.
