Chevrolet Chevelle 1969 Description
You see cars like this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle rumble into cruise nights every week, ut not many have the horsepower to back up the look like this one does. Packing a built 454 and a spectacular black paint job, his is an alpha predator whose low-key looks are all a part of the game. What they say about black paint is true, nd it's very clear that someone spent A LOT of time on the bodywork of this Chevelle before the paint went on. The '69 Chevelles always look best in dark colors, nd without stripes or other adornments, his one has a simple, rutal look that's extremely appealing. They didn't even add a cowl induction hood, nstead keeping the much cooler stock unit with its faux air vents at the base of the windshield. Gaps are extremely good all around, hich shouldn't be surprising, ince virtually every inch of sheetmetal on this car except the roof and deck lid is brand new. The two-stage urethane paint has an incredible shine and depth, hich is what you need with black to get maximum effect, nd the dark finish really makes the stainless trim pop. New bumpers, correct SS grille, nd even authentic "Chevelle" script emblems all make this car look pretty stock, ut even so, ou can tell this one is something special with just a quick glance. From behind the wheel, ou'd never realize that this Chevelle was so heavily fortified under the hood... until you turn the key. Black buckets, console, nd a factory steering wheel accurately re-create 1969 inside and it's all brand new. It's got an unusual tilt steering column to go with the horseshoe shifter and the bright, lear gauges were surely restored with the rest of the car, ncluding the factory tach. Fresh carpets and new door panels continue the all-new theme, nd with rubber mats on the floors, t'll look good for years to come. There is no radio, ut why would you need such a thing with all that entertainment under the hood? The back seat is also new and looks it, hile the headliner is taut and even, uggesting that the guys in charge of the interior really knew what they were doing. Even the trunk is correctly outfitted with a reproduction mat, ull-sized spare, nd cover. The 454 cubic inch V8 under the hood wasn't factory-issue, ut it's a neat fit in the Chevelle's engine bay. With a lot of aluminum, ncluding the intake manifold, eads, nd valve covers, t's not substantially heavier than a small block preserving the handling. Chevy Orange on the block reminds us who built the hardware and just about everything you can see or touch is brand new. A TH400 3-speed automatic seems immune to the torque twisting through it and there's a 12-bolt rear with 3.73s on a Posi inside. A new Flowmaster exhaust with turn-downs ahead of the rear axle sounds spectacular, specially with long-tube headers, nd for handling there are also tubular A-arms up front. It nails the stance, oo, ith a predatory crouch that totally makes this car work and classic Weld wheels carry 165/80/15 front and 295/50/15 rear blackwalls for the perfect big-n-little combination. You've admired cars like this for a long time, aven't you?
